Is something tunneling?

I scrolled through a bunch of subs trying to find something like this and I'm stumped. This is Daddy. I poled him 6 months ago, shortly after getting him, lots of new growth. Under a couple of 10w sansi bulbs, humidity consistently at 50/60. I feed lightly with FF, cal-mag and silica every watering, only use distilled. Also no cats.

I have an illuminated jewelers loupe and have absolutely COMBED over him and his neighbors (the tiny spagh bits from the pole make me crazy) multiple times and see zero evidence of critters except for the damage in the pics. A few other leaves in that specific area are looking wonky too. I can't figure it out.

Is this normal?

My Jacklyn started pushing a new leaf and today I noticed another one right behind it? They look different.

Guys .. talk me out of this

I picked this up on marketplace. It's 9" across and 11" high, very thick glass.

My beloved Adansonii that I've raised from a tiny bebe has what I'm 99% sure is my first thrips infestation, I need to pull out my lighted loupe and I've been dreading it. Light, nutes, and water are all under control. I'll be checking my other guys as well but haven't seen any damage so far, but Missy here for sure has something upsetting her.

She's been doing beautifully on two sections of moss pole. I've been thinking about converting her to a moss/leca setup - my alocasias are going crazy since I switched them - and figure I'll start this battle with a chop and prop. I'll tease the base section off its pole for ease in treating and pop it in a jar; the upper I'll keep on the pole and also set up in a jar.

I'll treat each with a combo of insecticidal soap, .025% pyrethrin spray (Knock Down Pot-It specifically mentions thrips) and the good old K9 Advantage hack to treat systemically (Canada). I haven't found any info on best practices using Imidacloprid in a Semi Hydro set up, I'll either wing it or just use it as another foliar spray.

Wish me Luck and I will happily take any advise!

This is handmade Lokta paper from Nepal that I used to make loose fitting sleeves that allow me to monitor water level and root growth. I glued a ring of jute ribbon to the tops and bottoms for added stiffness. I am very happy with the way they turned out.
