Witnessed a lady not pick up her dog poop

Along Macdonnell st near the princess st intersection, I saw a 50-60 year old woman with platinum blond, shoulder length hair and pink shorts/skirt wait for her large, dark Grey(it looked like it had curly fur) dog take a dump on someone's lawn and then kept walking.

I can't deal with confrontation so I did not say anything unfortunately, but now I realized this might be the person leaving dog poop along macdonnell st, there were so many earlier this year.🙂‍↔️

Little dude is not happy being photographed.

This little painted turtle was spotted making a grumpy crossing near Little Cataraqui Creek.

Why did the city approve Tomlinson(Ottawa) over local contractors for the Princess st Big Dig this summer?

Isn’t it strange that Tomlinson was approved over all other contractors, including local companies for the Princess St work (starting at Divison)

It’s my understanding that Local contractors underbid them by around $4,000,000.00… but the work was awarded to Tomlinson, an out of town contractor.

Just seems wildly shady, to accept a big $4M above local companies… $4 Million goes a long way… entire city blocks can be restored and repaved for this mark up….

Does anyone know how/why this happened?

Thrifting Cookbooks

Recently got a few cookbooks at a yard sale and now I’m on a mission to create a collection. Anyone been in any thrift stores lately and noticed any that had a good selection? Most of the ones I picked up were from the 90s but I’d love to have some more modern ones.

Also if you haven’t gotten into cookbooks, please do! I can’t explain how nice it is to read a recipe without having a million ads around it and a two page backstory. Pinterest used to be my go-to but I feel like it’s all the same stuff.

Is it safe to walk around at midnight?

Hi! I am new to Kingston. I will be arriving there at around 3 or 4 am on a Wednesday and will walk near Princess Street to get to the destination. Just wanted to know whether it is safe to do so. Many thanks in advance!

De mellos closing…what is coming there?

Just saw the sign today— another coffee shop or something else? The coffee was pretty good, sad to see it go. ☕️

Looking for a marketing company that is good and not predatory

I am new to the area and have a small business that I'm looking to market. I came from a bigger city where a lot of companies are predatory and will sell you dreams. Does anyone have any experience with the local companies that are 1) genuinely good people and 2) good at what they do? Thank you!

Division and Princess st.

I haven't lived in Kingston for about 1o years now and someone on another post mentioned something about a bunch of construction happening down there. Can anyone tell me what they are doing? I know that the buildings on the north east side where the Brass pub and over to the UPS store are aging. Is it something to do with it?

Dumpster Access

Anyone know where we can get rid of some oddball garbage? It’s bigger stuff that just needs to go before we move. Can you still bring a car load to the dump? Or any other ideas?

HELP!!! Visited Kingston today and got bitten by a tick

I was outdoors the whole day, but avoided tall grasses!! Stupidly, I didn’t check myself for ticks as soon as I got home. I just found a tick attached to my shoulder as I changed my clothes. I travelled 3.5hrs back home. I don’t know how long this tick has been on me. Am I going to die or get sick??? What do I do??? Lowkey panicking by a lot. Help!!!

Car Photography

Hey there! New to Kingston, photography AND cars. Looking to learn more about it by visiting car shows, could anyone point me in the direction of one that isn’t as far out as September?

Alternatively fun hikes for landscapes as those are my current go tos!

Any direction would be appreciated!

Rodent Mess Cleaners

Hey!

A rat got into my garage and made a mess in there over the winter.

I have found a ton of companies that get rid of them and prevent them from getting back in but I cant seem to find a company that will clean up and sanitize the garage.

I am a bit paranoid about cleaning up all the feces and shredded garbage nest on my own out of fear of getting sick. I have a ventilator and gloves, but would probably rather have peace of mind.

Does anyone know a cleaning company that would clean and sanitize the area?

A cost estimate would be nice if posible, though im sure its specific to the sotuation.

Thanks!

Mayor's race - July Poll

I'm fascinated with the Mayor's race in Kingston, hence all my posts. Curious where people are leaning. I'll do another every month. Poll is listed the same as the ballot.

Missed Connection PartSource

I was at PartSource earlier today (between 1-2pm) looking for a new air filter for my car. While I was there, there was a super handsome bearded man there (another customer) and I was too stressed about my car to even think about engaging in conversation. If that burly, bearded man is interested in the girl in the flower dress today at PartSource, shoot me a message and we’ll plan a date??
