They just put up signs on their windows saying they'll be closed. Sad day for Kingston :((

Not sure how common cash jobs are anymore, but I’m looking for one for the summer months. I have lots of experience working as a labourer and some in the food industry. Open to anything - feel free to message me if you know of anything.
Hello, has anyone visited circus at Cat centre Kingston???
Please drop your reviews.
Was it worth it or waste of money???
We're new to Kingston and wanted to check out the long 9-10 km loop at Little Cataraqui Creek today (21 May).
The picturrs on the webaite and in AllTrails are a little confusing to me though. Are there parts of the trail where you would actuall have to walk through actual marshes/ water?
We don't have spevialized shoes or anything. Just looking for an easy-moderate 2-3 hour nature walk. (Lemoine point is too small, and everything else is too far since we don't have a car).
Also, how does the entry work? Can we just show up at the office and get a day pass?
"Beginning in late March 2026, the individual has been discovered to be peering through the windows of several residences in the area of Earl Street," Kingston Police stated.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
Hey used to live in Kingston for a few years back in the day so I know some spots. So I’m antisocial and old now so like the grizzly is out lol. I’m in town for the weekend for some courses at queens. Where could I go hang by myself have one or two beers and shoot pool and not be too out of place. A quiet dive bar is perfect. Thanks in advance!
Such an awful situation for this poor little Kingston family!
Hey everyone! I'm moving to Kingston this September to attend Queen's and looking for places to rent. Does anyone have insight as to what the Foundry Mack looks like from the inside? I can't find any good photos apart from the stock ones they have on the website. Would you recommend renting here long term?
I also heard of a new construction called The Hive that is set to open this September. I can't find any Google images for it so it's hard for me to judge if it's a good place to live. If anyone has any information about this property would be greatly appreciated!
You will most likely have a dr by jun 20 2026
In need of some help currently a friend is in Belleville homeless she needs a ride to Kingston where she has a place to stay finally! Can pay fuel of course
Does anyone have any recommendations, or companies to avoid, for lawn care in the west end? My front and back yard are pretty shot, with weeds and dandelions that need removal, patchy grass in many areas, and a couple spots that may need new sod
I used the good ol’ search function but didn’t find much. Has anybody had good or bad experiences with a similar need for lawn maintenance? Thanks!
I found a pair of prescription glasses (not sunglasses) left outside of Reid's Dairy in Kingston on one of the benches. I have brought them inside and left them with the staff. If they are yours, or if you know someone that may have lost them, Reid's Dairy is open until 9:00 p.m. this evening.
I'm hoping someone picks them up, prescription glasses are so expensive these days!
Hi! I’m looking for recommendations for someone local who does really good brunette to blonde balayage/lived-in colour outside of a salon studio (home studio, independent stylist, etc.) at a more affordable price point.
My hair is medium/dark brunette with some existing warmth/lightened pieces, and I’m hoping for a soft cool-toned balayage.
Looking for someone experienced with toning out orange/red warmth and creating a more neutral/cool result. Bonus if they have Instagram photos of their work 🤍
Located near Kingston but willing to drive a bit for the right person!
Thanks in advance!

Im basically just looking for a place to find decent computers or computer building hardware somewhere in Kingston or the area. Recently started building budget PC's again and dont want to use part picker or canada computers anymore. Looking for some good deals. Thanks!
Have seen numerous posts on social media passed around today about this. Are they removing the day dock permanently?
When you feel like wandering around in your car (despite gas prices) where do you go?
Edit: I will be coming back this evening to read and respond to everyone, but I do have a day job that I have to get back to.
Good morning fellow Kingstonians.
My name is Stephen and as the title says, I'm running for Mayor this upcoming municipal election.
My platform is, in my opinion, rather straight forward. Housing affordability in Kingston is down from Bad to All-Time-Low. Conversely, return on investment on purpose built rentals in Kingston is at an all time high.
Therefore the city should invest in local housing in two ways.
One, greatly expand the Kingston and Frontenac Housing Corporation in order to provide a much needed affordable supply (over 5000 units required based on past studies).
Two, start a second for-profit housing corporation with the intention to rent at-or-below market rate units to provide an additional revenue source to fund city services. These units will still provide benefit to tenants since rental rates will be directly attributable to council, meaning profiteering comes with actual consequence.
Beyond this, Kingston has a plethora of issues. Many I know about, like our pothole filled roads, inefficiencies at the building department, or shortcomings in local healthcare. But it never hurts to be reminded of the problems we face. As the saying goes, the squeaky wheel gets the grease.
For a few more details on my platform and priorities, please see my website at stephenformayor.ca
But I want to hear from you directly: What are the most pressing issues that plague you in your life here in Kingston that the municipal government can affect change on?
The powers of the municipal government only go so far, but I'm willing to lobby and criticize our provincial and federal governments for support where needed.
Thank you for your time,
Stephen.
Hey everyone,
I’m 17 in Ontario and thinking about starting a small mobile car detailing / car washing business on weekends and after school to make some side income.
The idea would be simple, affordable detailing where I come to the customer’s house and do things like:
• Interior vacuum
• Wipe down / cleaning
• Windows
• Basic exterior wash
• Tire shine
• Maybe motorcycle cleaning too
I have access to a shared car with my parents sometimes, low startup budget, and I’d mainly be targeting local families, busy people, and older adults.
My goal would be around $1,000/month eventually, nothing crazy.
Be brutally honest:
Would this actually work in 2026?
What would make you trust a teen detailer?
What prices would be reasonable?
Biggest mistakes to avoid?
Would you personally hire a 17 year old for this?
Also, if anyone here has run a detailing business, what do you wish you knew when starting
