I don't understand tool belt layout

Hoping you all can maybe guide me in the right direction here. I'm looking to get a new tool belt but am just not really understanding the layout on most belts.

I've always kept my pencil on my dominant side and tape and square on my non-dominant with any fasteners I'm using.

It seems like most belts put tools on the dominant side and fasteners and chalk lines non-dominant.

I don't understand this as it seems like most of the time this requires an extra bit of juggling because I'm using my square or tape in combination with a pencil, or a cats paw in combination with a hammer. Does anyone make a layout more like this? Or am I just missing something?

Hi all. I am getting setup to have a receptacle put on my house so I can use a 50 Amp portable generator to run some things in an outage. My electrician is very concerned that the generator has a 14-50R on it rather than a 50amp twist type receptacle.

I understand his concerns about the cord not being as secure as a twist lock, but it looks like the majority of 50amp generators have these same receptacles. Should I be concerned, and why would manufacturers lean toward using a less safe receptacle?
