Not very interested in solids + partner criticism

My baby is almost 8 months old and breastfed. The only exception is one bottle of pumped milk a day that the nanny gives her while I’m working.

We started offering solids about 2 months ago, but she doesn’t really want anyone to feed her. She mostly wants to grab the spoon or the food herself and gets upset if we don’t let her lol. People keep telling me not to worry about it, but it’s hard not to compare sometimes. I talk to other moms and one of their babies is only a month older and already eating 3 meals a day.

Another issue is that my partner thinks that feeding her every time she asks is “spoiling” her and preventing her from learning how to soothe herself. I honestly don’t mind nursing her on demand, but now I’m wondering if he has a point.

She never took a pacifier (we tried like 4 different kinds) and eventually I gave up. Am I being lazy by just nursing her when she wants comfort? Is this actually a problem, or is my partner exaggerating? Or is there some middle ground here?

First time travel with almost 9 months baby

Next month we are travelling to the Tuscany in Italy from Canada because one of my friend from high school is getting married. I am so excited. We will be staying 4 days at the Tuscany and 5 days in Rome.
Just wondering if anyone has any tips on what is useful and what’s not for travelling, anything that I should definitely take, how to handle the flights etc
I made an arrangement with my husband that she is taking the baby to sleep and I will stay at the party until it ends lol
Just for context she will be almost 9 months old at that time and she is crawling a lot and starting to stand up and trying to walk. Very curious. But not extremely into solids yes ( she is breastfed)

Hi all,
I’m currently evaluating a compensation adjustment for a role that has grown significantly in scope, and I’d love to get an external benchmark to make sure I’m thinking about this correctly.
I’m based in Canada (remote), working for a North America-focused company (Canada + US operations). Company size is small-to-mid (not enterprise), but with fairly complex operations.
Scope of the role:
End-to-end supply chain ownership (procurement, supplier management, import/export coordination)
Oversight of 3PL logistics (multiple warehouses, fulfillment coordination, inventory flows)
Demand planning & inventory planning (including forecasting and stock coverage logic)
Close alignment with finance on COGS / landed cost structure
Production responsibilities:
Managing a production line (~12 people)
Defining workflows, improving efficiency, and tracking KPIs (output, downtime, etc.)
Team structure:
Direct/indirect oversight of:
~12 people in production
2 people in supply/procurement
Cross-functional collaboration with finance, marketing, and leadership
So in total, a mix of operations leadership + supply chain + production + systems/process improvement.
The role has expanded significantly over time beyond its original scope.
My questions:
What would be a reasonable salary range in Canada for this type of role?
What would the equivalent range look like in the US market?
What title would best match this scope?
I’m especially interested in how ranges vary depending on:
Company size (startup vs mid-size)
Whether it’s more “hands-on” vs strategic leadership
Team size / production component
Any insight or benchmarks would be super helpful — I want to make sure I’m not underestimating the scope when negotiating.
Thanks in advance!

It’s been 3.5 years since I started my current role, and in that time I also became a mom to my now 6-month-old baby.

Like any job, there are things I enjoy and things I don’t. But if I were to consider a role that requires going back to the office, it would have to be at least hybrid (assuming I have a choice and I’m not in a position where I urgently need a job), and the pay increase would need to be at least 12%.

I know that might sound a bit random, but working from home has so many benefits that I’m not sure the extra money would fully make up for it.
Anyone else feeling the same?
