Moving to Philly next month. Tell me which of these neighborhoods is actually worth it.

I’m planning a move to Philly for June 2026. I work remote so I don't give a shit about a commute. I have a 55lb dog I walk a lot, but I’m not one of those people who needs to bring my dog into every bar and grocery store in the city. I’ll have a car for longer errands, but I want to be able to walk to a gym, a grocery store, and dog daycare without it being a whole thing.

Right now I'm looking at East Passyunk, the Italian Market area, Fairmount/Spring Garden, or Northern Liberties.

A buddy of mine lives in NoLibs and won't stop pitching it, but he inherited a house there so his take is biased. He calls East Passyunk "fugly but the food is better," which doesn't really matter to me if the neighborhood actually functions. I don't care about being in the trendiest spot, I just want to know which of these is the most practical for living day-to-day.

Is NoLibs actually better for things like groceries and gym access, or is it just more expensive for no reason? Is South Philly a better fit if I'm prioritizing utility over nightlife?

Tell me what I'm missing or if there’s a better spot I should be looking at.
