Quiet Center City Studio. $1,050 All Utilities Incl – Lease Takeover thru Oct. (Washington Square West: Steps from the Gayborhood)

$1,050/month, ALL utilities included (electric, gas, water) — looking to hand off by September 1st, running through end of October, with the option to sign a new 12-month lease directly with the property after.

Security deposit: $1,050 (one month's rent), paid to me directly after the property approves you — it stays on the account, so no extra costs at move-in beyond first month's rent.

Unfurnished studio, completely empty and ready for your own setup.

The space:

  • ~200 sq ft, 2nd floor, easy elevator access (functional, reasonably modern)
  • AC unit included
  • Genuinely quiet — no neighbors on 3 sides, solid wall/ceiling insulation
  • In-building laundry (wash + dry for ~$4 total)

The location (Washington Square West / Clinton St):

  • 2-minute walk to Louis Kahn Park
  • 10–15 min walk to ACME, Trader Joe's, and Chinatown grocery stores
  • 5-minute walk to the Gayborhood's main nightlife strip
  • Tree-lined, quiet residential block, walking distance to Jefferson University and Pennsylvania Hospital

Good to know:

  • You'd apply directly through Michael Singer Realty Estate (MSRE) — standard credit/income approval process, nothing unusually strict for Philly rentals
  • Pets generally allowed (up to 2) — worth confirming specifics with the office
  • No dedicated parking, but residential street parking permits are available through the city
  • Management is responsive, reasonable, and easy to work with

Great fit for a student, medical professional, or anyone wanting a quiet, walkable Center City home base without a long lease commitment. Happy to answer questions or set up a viewing!

Roofer that we’ve been using for years has recently stopped returning calls. We’ve had an issue since March that’s still not repaired. Can anyone recommend a solid, stable and reliable roofer? Naturally I want someone who’s licensed and bonded and who’s not going to shwick me with price. I’m in NE Philly

Two rooms available in a shared house in West Philly. Queer/trans/disabled to the front please

Two rooms available in queer/trans shared house in West Philly

We have two private rooms in our shared house in Southwest near 53 and Springfield

$400/month, available immediately

Smaller private room, partially furnished or unfinished

$600/month, expected around October 1

Larger private room, partially furnished or unfurnished.

Shared utilities are split among the household. Budget around $100/month, more in the summer.

We're a social, collaborative queer/trans household where people have their own lives and plenty of privacy, but we actually want to live with the people we live with, not just rent bedrooms next to each other.

You don't need to hang out all the time, check in with anyone, or tell anyone where you're going. Basic communication, saying hi and bye, being comfortable sharing common space, and being willing to talk directly when something comes up are important to us.

We have parties, but we're not a party house, and we don't think it's a party if it happens every night. There's music, DJing, jam sessions, occasional shared meals, friends coming through, a dog and two cats, and a generally active, lived-in house. More pets have to be approved by the landlord and he charges a 35/month fee you would have to pay

Disability and mental health struggles are ordinary parts of life here. We're intentionally building a household where people's value and belonging aren't determined by age, attractiveness, resources, lifestyle coolness, social capital, productivity, or ability. You don't need to perform a particular version of queer life to belong here.

What matters much more is whether you're kind, communicative, respectful of boundaries, able to deal with conflict directly, and interested in contributing to a home where people actually know and care about the people they live with.

If you're looking for a place where you can live like you don't have roommates this is not it. If you're looking for a place to collapse into where we'll fix your life for you this is definitely not it!

We're taking our time and looking for people who are genuinely compatible with the household rather than simply trying to fill the rooms ASAP.

If you're interested, send me a message with your signal handle and we can chat there.

Photos 2 3 and 4 are the big room photos 5 6 7 are the smaller room

Pet sitter and walker available, based in Queen Village

Hi I am an experienced pet sitter and experienced dog walker as well. The Wag and Rover apps are okay for bookings but I would prefer to work directly with clients.

I'm in queen village and will do 1/2 hour walks within the neighborhood (or most of Bella Vista) for $20, 1 hour walks $30.

Outside Queen Village $25 for 1/2 hour, $35 for 1 hour.

For sitting I am available in your home only, I can't board pets in my home. Prices vary based on types of pets, number of pets, and ages. It can be as low as $40/day but I am happy to discuss with you based on your needs.

I have LOTS of experience with elderly pets and with reactive pets.

For clarity I am a 30yo woman, please DM me and I will give you my number

Thank you!

Looking to lease transfer for my room West Philly $845/mo

Looking to find someone to take over my room in a West Philly 2bed/1bath apartment as soon as mid-September! Beautiful balcony overlooking the Art Museum and Schulykill River. 15 minute walk from Drexel and 30th Street Station. Lots of street parking nearby too :).

I am moving abroad so me and my roommate (21, nonbinary amab) are looking for someone to take my spot (lease is until June 22 next year, move-in as early as Sept 12, Oct 1 also possible). Guessing roomie will be interested in renewing lease again, if you'd want, since it's such a nice spot.

Rent $845/month, utilities often under $50 pp.

Living room already has couch, table, TV, etc.
Laundry available in basement (unit is 2nd floor of a rowhome), perfect bike locking spot available on front porch. I will be moving out completely for my study abroad (including the loft bed, unless you'd like it).

Photos from move in so we have decorated/ organized a bit since. Disclaimer-- We're currently fostering a (friendly) little white dog, though we hopefully will get him back to his mama soon.

DM if interested!

Looking to hire TODAY - $20/hr - Carry MANY bags of clothes up two flights of stairs (2-3 hours)

EDIT - COMPLETED with my thanks to u/easybread_ - if you need someone to help you out this is a trustworthy kickass human!

Welll... since the last like THREE times worked out so well when I needed odd job help here...

I'm just moved into my new home in Pennsport, near Herman's Coffee.

I haves of clothing - literally JUST clothing - piled up to the ceiling of my living room, and need it ALL moved up to the third floor. There are two tightly winding stair sets of about ten stairs each going up and down.

And during the move I partially put my back out. So that's SUPER COOL.

The clothes are either bagged up in garbage bags, or loosely tossed in piles while on hangers, and then there are about 15 of those collapsable IKEA shipping boxes full which can be broken up into IKEA style bags and carried up.

This is not a *hard* job, carrying the things isn't going to be especially *heavy*, but going up and down the stairs is going to be decently physical and boring as hell.

Primarily everything can be moved into a giant set of piles upstairs; there will be one or two crates that need to go in a specific place which we can deal with when you're here.

I need someone who is willing to move their ass and get it done, full stop.

I'm paying $20 an hour cash, and I estimate it will take 2-3 hours depending on how fast you work, and if you get the job done in ANY time frame up to 3 hours, I will pay you $75 cash.

Please reply *here* first, *THEN* DM me. I will reply within 10 minutes so please be checking your DM's

There is a sweet talkative elder cat here who I'll keep out of the way.

I am queer and non conforming, AMAB. If that's going to cause you some kind of interpersonal conflict, please move on.

Thanks in advance!

Wanted. 44M Looking for Month-to-Month Room in South Philly

Hello everyone. I am looking to rent a room in South Philadelphia or close by on a month-to-month basis. I’m a 44-year-old male searching for a calm, flexible space to recharge.

My Situation:
My mother is currently entering the beginning stages of hospice care. I recently moved back in to help manage everything, but the round-the-clock nature of caregiving is taking a heavy toll on my sleep and well-being. I am looking for a temporary, month-to-month sanctuary where my nervous system can relax and recover. This will allow me to take care of my own health while balancing my family responsibilities with a little bit of healthy distance.

What I’m Looking For:
Type: A room on a month-to-month basis, available as soon as possible.

Location: South Philly or nearby, within walking distance to public transit.

Parking: I have a car, but I just need to park it nearby to use for commuting back and forth to my mom's house. I prefer to walk day-to-day.

Space: I live very minimally. I just need space for clothes and a yoga mat. A furnished room with a bed is a huge plus, along with access to a shower and laundry.

About Me:
I am quiet, self-contained, and highly respectful of other people's space and rhythms. Because of my schedule, I sometimes keep weird hours, but I am entirely conscientious about noise. I don't party and prefer to stay away from loud environments nowadays.
In my free time, I love yoga, drawing, writing, swimming at the YMCA, and wandering/exploring the city on foot. I appreciate nature, sun, easy-going people, and good energy. I can be social around the right vibe, but I mostly entertain myself.

Logistics:
I can pay via Venmo, Zelle, check, or money order. I would be happy to schedule a time to meet up or jump on a video call to see if we are a good match.

Thank you so much for your time and consideration. Please send me a DM if you have a space that might fit.

ISO: A place to land in the city of brotherly love.

Hello!

This will be a bit long, but tl;dr is more or less that I’m a creative and outgoing guy looking to leave suburbia for city life and I’m tired of waiting for a job to grant me permission to move. People make it work and I want to be one of them. I have some savings and a hunger for something dynamic, and figure Reddit has always served me well in connecting with like-minded people.

I’m open to renting a room, a studio, or an alternative living arrangement like artist co-housing as long as it’s stable, safe, and a place for growth.

For the last year or so there has been a little voice in my head urging me to move to Philadelphia. It started with small things like seeing Philly in shows/media constantly, to then hearing songs on my Spotify about the city.

I grew up in Northern Colorado in a smallish city, and outside of a brief stint in the south of France I have never lived in a walkable, mixed-use, public transit oriented city and I have absolutely reached my limits on car dependent urban sprawl where people are either at home, work, or the bar.

I know Philly isn’t a utopia, but it’s a big step up from where I’m at and from what I’ve read it has a great community of artists and makers.

So, I’m looking for a place to land that won’t break the bank while I find my footing. I have some savings but would love to not burn through them entirely. I know the job market is likely going through the same thing everywhere, but I think I’ll have much more luck if I’m already in the city rather than applying from across the country.

For sale: 2015 VW Jetta , $900 OBO

Selling my vw, first (and only) car I have paid off. It has run and driven quite well over past few years but i need to transition to something with a bed. The car does need a bit of work (hood dent, inspection, rear suspension rattle), and to have installed a new front bumper and headlight which I have already purchased but not installed.

1.8L turbocharged engine, ~134k miles, oil changed religiously.

Having a new fob made tomorrow morning and will be open for test drives following that.

At this point just trying to get rid of it over junk value if possible. Willing to work with you!

For the record this is completely above board, the title is in my band and sitting on my desk, we can get a notary and have it signed over to you immediately.

WTB a nintendo Wii (or 2)

Anyone have a Nintendo Wii that’s been sitting around for a while? I’d love to buy 1 or 2, I’m planning a MJ dance party for my lady for her bday in a couple weeks, want to buy some Wii’s so her and her friends can play the MJ experience game.

I’ve been seeing them go for anywhere between $50-$75 with 2 Wii motes, so hoping to pay within that price range. Thanks in advance 🥰

I also am getting rid of some stuff; I have a mini fridge, I have a dell windows laptop, a bunch of 35mm/120 film, electronics stuff. Lmk if you’re looking for anything specific I think a trade would be superrr cool to do!
