I miss when I could get write something suicidal into google and get back actual results.

Reading them made me always feel a bit better. Now Google is just afraid someone will try to hold them responsible for providing the truth, so now it's just gemini and all the results aggressively bombarding you with suicide hotlines to call.

How does the Venom split the squad? (10th)

Okay I know 11th is around the corner, and all might be the subject of change, but the tl;dr: I can either have a Venom with 5 Splinter Rifles and 1 Shard Cannon, or if I want the Venom to have the Shard cannon, I must eliminate a Splinter Rifle Kabalite from it?

What the Venom says:

>Before the battle, at the start of the Declare Battle Formations step, you can select one KABALITE WARRIORSHAND OF THE ARCHON or WYCHES unit from your army that has not already been split. If you do, that unit is split into two units, each containing as equal a number of models as possible

Meanwhile the Declare Battle Formations steps says

>In the order stated below, both players now secretly note down:

  • Which of their Leader units will start the battle attached (they must specify which Leader unit is attached to which Bodyguard unit).
  • Which of their units will start the battle embarked within TRANSPORT models (they must specify which units are embarked within which models).
  • Which of their units will start the battle in Reserves (including Strategic Reserves).

>When both players have done so, they declare their selections to their opponent.

So I am either splitting my Kabalite Warriors into 2x5, then add my Archon to that.
Or I am adding my Archon first, and splitting the unit into a 1x6 and a 1x5.

Is either one more legal than the other, or both are possible?

Can infantry hide behind our transports?

It is pretty obvious when a group of intercessors disembarks on the opposite side of the boxy block of the Rhino. But I am questioning when we got our designer-geometry, flying, Raiders and Venoms floating between the disembarking Kabalites and the enemy.

EDIT: Okay, no hiding behind transports, period. Thanks for letting me know.

Are we an anti-infantry army?

I am rather new, never played any other armies, but I feel like most of our options are for killing infantry.

  • A Kabalite Warriors Squad is 70% anti-infantry (splinter rifles with S2, the splinter canon with S3 and the Shredder, that with AP 0 can't hit much else)
  • Wyches have all their weapons S3, and a little S4
  • Incubi have Strength to attack other things, but the Power from Pain is Devastating Wounds against strictly infantry
  • Wracks are in a similar shoe with S3-4, and a lot of Anti-Infantry
  • Leilith is a great infantry blender with her sustained hits 2, anti-infantry, only has S3
  • Hellions are S4-5 with a lot of hits, but that is still best against infantry with their sustained hits.

I know our Dark Lance is great, but that's all we got. We also have Disintegrator Cannons if we come across something that has T6, and has a bigger squad, but that is kinda niche, and we can only switch out the already valuable Dark Lances for it. Am I missing something?

New to Drukhari, and got an incursion game going on. Playing Realspace Raiders so I am full of Pain Tokens, and can get into the groove of using pain abilities. My list has room for exactly one 5 wrack unit + a Haemonculus, or another group of Kabalite Warriors.

So tell me about these muscly guys under the codex? They can be kitted out with one of each their ranged weapon options, much like the Kabalites. Should I do that, if I mainly keep them for their durability? Trying to use them to hold in Take and Hold mostly.
