Its been a long time since I painted an ultramarine so I thought it was time to give Titus a go.

This was the first time I have painted cast shadows and so far I like the way it turned out. Its still very much a work in progress but im slowly getting there.

Im not sold on his iron halo thingy being all gold so I might have to change that.

Any feedback or CC is always welcome!

I've been working on this captain for a while and I'm looking for some feedback.

I have tried not to fall into my usual trap of caring too much about getting things smooth. Instead, I tried to get some more interesting highlights.

As you can see, it's still quite rough. His right leg and arm still need more highlights and all the gold is mostly just sketched. And some areas as just blocked in.

Does the gold number read as gold? And is the lightplacemenr reasonable?

Also, does anyway have a good way to paint black cloth?

Stripped and repainted my Captain and im looking for some feedback on this model. I have tried to not care to much about keeping things smooth ( something I often get hung up on)and try to capture more atmosphere.

Any feedback, tips or tricks is welcome!

I feel my bolter ended up looking very plain and boring so im looking for tips to spice it up.

How do you paint your bolter that isnt just plain black.

Sorry for the repost but i wanted to add a picture of the model under direct light as it changes to color a lot from the second image which has indirect light.

Still very much wip to lower body is perhaps 80% done but nees clean up and some cleaner transitions.

Started working on my slightly kitbashed terminator captain.

The model looks much smoother irl. My photography skills are still pretty bad so any tips on how to take better miniature photos with an iPhone is appreciated.

And as always constructive feedback is always welcome!

I just cant make up my mind on what red to use and need some input.

It might be a little unfair to use one model that is complete but try and focus on the reds.

The first picture very rough and im testing out some new colors. This red is very red compered to the others irl.

The second almost looks pink when held besides the first. Its the most cold red.

Men the third is a middleground .

I appreciate any input.

After painting a lot of Blood Angels I felt is was time for the big boy in blue.

The blue is almost done it just need some glazing.

The gold on the other hand still need a lot of work to actually look like metal . I still struggle a lot with contrast on nmm so feedback is always welcome.

Also do anyone has any good tips on painting fur as this is a first for me?

My skin theif is 80% finished but im to bored with him atm to finish him so might as well show it off a little :D

So im finally happy with how the red turned out after stripping and repainting several times. I still need to fix the edge highlights and his right leg but its mostly done.

Not sure if I like silver-ish halo or if I should repainted it gold.

To answer some questions that was askes in the other post.

The helmet is from the old Blood angels tactical squad.

The red recepie is :

Its Gal Vorbak red as a base. This is followed by Khorne red and almost a glaze of Evil sun Scarlet. The brightest part such as the helmet is then glazed with wild rider red. The arms and such has a glaze of evil sun Scarlet and wild rider red as its highlight.
The shadows are a mix of Vallejo Dark red and macragge blue to make a purple. I then add more and more blue to deepen the shadows

So im finallly happy with how the red turned out after stripping and repainting several times. I still need to fix the edge highlights and his right leg but its mostly done.
