“Press A to Join” Split-screen Zombies
Worked Friday but Saturday we can’t play together allot screen.
Platform: Xbox One X
Game: Call of Duty: Black Ops 7
Mode: Zombies and Multiplayer (Local Split Screen)
Issue:
The "Press A to Join" prompt for local split-screen no longer appears. My wife and I play split-screen Zombies almost every night. It worked normally the previous day, but after launching the game today the prompt is completely gone in both Zombies and Multiplayer.
Expected Behavior:
When the second controller is connected and signed into a second Xbox profile, the game should display "Press A to Join" and allow a second local player to join.
Actual Behavior:
The prompt never appears anywhere. The second player cannot join local split-screen.
Troubleshooting Already Performed:
- Fully restarted the Xbox.
- Fully quit and relaunched the game.
- Both controllers are working correctly.
- Both Xbox profiles are signed in.
- Party Privacy is set to Open.
- Cleared the Call of Duty Reserved Space cache.
- Verified there are no pending game updates.
- Verified Multiplayer and Zombies content packs are installed.
- Tested another Call of Duty title (Advanced Warfare Exo Zombies), and split-screen works normally there.
Additional Information:
- This issue affects both Zombies and Multiplayer.
- The problem started suddenly after previously working without any changes to the console or controllers.
- This appears to be isolated to Black Ops 7 / Call of Duty HQ.
Request:
Please investigate this as a possible regression affecting Xbox local split-screen. Based on troubleshooting, this does not appear to be a controller, Xbox profile, or console issue.
