New seller - I'm paying double for shipping than what the buyer did - No Canada Post labels available?

This is my first time selling on eBay. I'm located in Canada and shipping to the USA. When selecting my shipping method I went with 'calculated shipping' as I'm unfamiliar with shipping and how to calculate a flat rate cost. For the USA I went with "Canada Post Tracked Packet - USA" because it had the lowest fee of C$9.27.

To my surprise, this morning I had discovered my item had sold and when I went to buy a shipping label from eBay Labels I could not find Canada Post as an option and the lowest shipping service being UPS at C$18.91. I am being expected to eat almost $10 out of my own pocket. The item I am selling I posted for just above cost (with fees considered) and I am now selling at a loss. I find this very unfair as when I selected 'calculated shipping' I expected eBay to handle finding the exact and absolute final shipping price so I would not be left with any surprises such as this.

Upon researching this I discovered Canada Post services was disabled for US sales with eBay Labels on August 25th, 2025. However if you look through the FAQs on eBay Label's own page you'll still find Canada Post listed for the USA under "What shipping services are available with eBay Labels?" Canada Post Tracked Packet - USA even has it's own dedicated page. (Links removed. Does the "no links" rule really apply to eBay's own documentation as well?)

I am very frustrated with this experience as there was no way I could have known this before hand. Ebay still allows me to select Canada Post for shipping to the USA on my other listings. This supposedly has been disabled for nearly a year now, yet eBay still allows me to select a service they do not offer. They should not be calculating and charging buyers for a shipping service that is not available and leaving it up to the sellers to pay out-of-pocket for another shipping service.

What is my recourse here? Can I expect eBay to reimburse me for the excess shipping costs? I still plan on following through with fulfilling the order as I don't want this to negatively reflect on my account as a seller, however this has left a very sour taste in my mouth using eBay going forward.
