I found a non-deterministic combo in the Ashling precon

Something crazy just happened playing my unmodified Ashling precon this evening. The essential board state was just [[Risen Reef]] and [[Cream of the Crop]]. It went as follows:

  1. I play [[Omnath, Locus of Rage]], triggering Cream of the Crop so I get to look at the top 5 cards, which lets me put a land on top and the rest on the bottom.
  2. Risen Reef also triggers, so I put the land from the top of my deck into play.
  3. Omnath, Locus of Rage's landfall triggers, so a 5/5 elemental enters the board.
  4. The token triggers Cream of the Crop and I can look for another land in my top 5, and so on.

Eventually I found 5 cards in a row that didn't have any lands in them, but I just played my land for the turn and off we go again! I managed to make more than 20 5/5 elemental tokens this way.

The best part is that I also had [[Incandescent Soulstoke]] in play, so I actually looked at the top 6 every time, and also [[Maelstrom Wanderer]], so all my tokens had haste!

Really crazy interaction to have in a precon.

Does it make any sense to get into Salesforce again?

I have been out of the market for over a year for medical reasons, and before I was laid off I was working as a developer/admin in Salesforce. I don't have any certifications besides the Associate and AI Associate, but I do have a couple of years of experience as a junior/mid.

I wonder if it's worth it to get back into Trailhead and earn a couple of real certifications (Admin and App Builder most likely) to work in Salesforce again.

Besides my Salesforce experience, I have a couple of years of SAP development, though I have forgotten almost everything, and a couple of years of full stack web development, which I don't think would be the best path right now.

EDIT: I live in Spain, if that means anything to you.

Which Silver Age precon did you pick, was it worth it?

After some time after release, I would like to know which Silver Age precons did you guys pick and if they were worth the hype.

In my case I found that Bravo works really well, one turn arsenaling one card with crush and the next sending it with +1 and dominate, blocking everything in between. I also got Arakni and while I didn't have any faith in them because the daggers and the arms are worse than their adult counterpart, they did perform surprisingly well.

So, which one did you pick? Did you upgrade it or do you keep it as it is? How does it perform for you?

What do you think about the Silverquill Influence precon?

I'm interested in getting this precon, but most people seem to agree that the Lorehold one was the better of the bunch.

I want to play it as it is, without upgrades. Do you think it's worth it or is it one of those precons that needs a few tweaks to get going?

Also, which commander do you think fits the untouched deck better, [[Killian, Decisive Mentor]] or [[Scriv, the Obligator]]?

Thanks.
