If I wanted to be a teacher for kids in middle school, would it be better to go to school for education or go to school for some specific degree that is related to a specific class I'd teach in?
I just started researching REU's in general and cant find consistent info on this. When do REU applications for programs happening next summer open up generally?
Whenever I try to write a proof, I wind up just translating absolutely everything into predicate logic and proving it mechanically that way. But I lose all the insight into the problem and feel as if I havent actually gleaned anything from the higher level, "chunked" definitions involved in the problem statement. How do I learn to stop relying on mechanical application of formal logic laws and start being able to reason with higher level statements?
By the time I transfer ill have 60+ credits completed and have been in college 3 years. But in hs i got a 1100 on the SAT. Should I spend time to retake it or is the ROI too low?
im thinking about taking CSC 221 in 8 weeks this summer. Im a math major and trying to transfer out competitively, so I need an A. I have no experience in programming. Im also working part time. Is this doable?
Has anyone taken Statistics 2, and if so, what is the class like? Thinking ab taking it online this summer.
I want to transfer from my CC for a math major. Currently Im taking Calc 2 after self studying testing out of Calc 1 using CLEP. Its a 7 week, asynchronous course, and its too late to take the W.
On my practice tests (I have to make them myself), homeworks, and quizzes, I regularly score highly, 90%> often. But on the exams I dont perform well. My last 2 exams (of which there are 3) were in the C range. The class is totally asynchronous, theres no real lesson plan. Neither are there any practice exams. I will probably finish the class with a B if not a C, and an A is likely impossible at this point. What do I do from here?
I have already contacted my professor about my performance on homework and quizzes not translating.
