At the end of Harry's first year, Voldemort's wraith is sucked into the Mirror of Erised and destroyed. Unfortunately for everyone, this activates all of his horcruxes. Unfortunately for Voldemort, he's never been a fan of sharing power, even with himself.

Looking for Post-Isekai stories.

Does anyone know of any stories featuring the life of a protagonist after they've had their isekai adventure and returned to earth?

One thing I'm not looking for are things like Hell Difficulty Tutorial where the "isekai" was literally just training for when they returned back.

The ones I've found so far are:

  • Epilogue by Etzoli
  • The Wayward Children series by Seanan McGuire
  • The HwFwM Earth arc

Favorite ship names?

When talking about fanfics, a lot of people abbreviate ship names, such as Harry/Ginny becoming "Hinny" or Harry/Hermione becoming "Harmony".

Disregarding what you think of the actual ships, what are your favorite ship names?

Consequences of Snape not having been at Hogwarts?

How do you think the series would have gone differently if Snape had never been at Hogwarts, and instead just remained Dumbledore's close friend and confidant while focusing on his strengths as a potions master.

I think the world would have been a lot better off both inside of Hogwarts and outside of it.

When Slughorn retired, he'd likely have been replaced by someone who was a worse brewer than Snape, but a significantly better teacher. Someone who's teaching method involved more than putting a recipe up on the board and intimidating students into making mistakes. There would likely be a much higher pass rate for the course, though maybe the NEWT students might have a harder time finding answers to difficult questions.

Without Snape's bullying of at least a quarter of the students, along with no longer having a marked death eater as the head of Slytherin house, the conflicts between slytherin and the rest of the school would likely be significantly less prevalent. Bullying would likely not go away, and the Slytherin/Gryffindor divide would likely still be there, but without a teacher joining in the bullying and actively supporting the conflict, I doubt it would be nearly as bad.

The world outside of Hogwarts would be significantly better with Snape's help as well. Without spending his time bullying students, he'd be able to focus all of his effort on potioncraft. I'd be willing to wager that he would push forward the world's knowledge of potions significantly over his lifetime.

In terms of Harry's time at the school, the only things I'm taking into account are those Snape did of his own volition, and not the things Dumbledore had him do (since Dumbledore would have just had someone do them instead).

In Harry's first year, he'd have fallen from his broom and been caught by a member of the staff like every other student who fell off their broom during a game where almost a third of the players focus on knocking people off their brooms. This might have caused his team to lose.

Harry's seventh year would likely be the most different. Without Snape's position in the castle, Voldemort would likely have likely put someone else in charge. The students who remained at Hogwarts would likely have an even worse time than they did in Canon.

Anyone know of anything I missed?

One of my favorite things that I rarely see in isekai/reincarnation stories is when someone other than the MC and their group has been isekai'd.

The best example I can think of with this is Vainqueur the Dragon, where the gods of the world just straight-up admit that they're snatching anyone and everyone who even marginally qualifies for isekai. Does anyone know of any other stories where more large numbers (or even just more than the MC's group) are isekai'd to the same world?

The only ones I've read are:

  • Vainqueur the Dragon
  • Chaotic Craftsman Worships the Cube (doesn't technically qualify, but the MC's group is large and diverse enough that I'm counting it)
  • Tree of Aeons
