Three weeks ago I made a post saying the Knicks moving on from their coach after being a similar position to us last year proved to have its benefits
The common response was: “the Knicks are in the east”
-> they beat the team that beat us and had one of the best championship runs ever
“What if the coach is worse?”
-> being scared to do nothing will have the same eventuality as failing
“Finch is the best coach in our history”
-> this is the best roster in Wolves history. It’s a similar thing to Thibs taking that Knicks roster to the ecf
“The problems lie in our roster, not finch. Our players are low iq.”
-> doesn’t seem like their iq is that low when they end up on different teams, but that’s just me.
The old post:
More context on DMitch’s ball dominance and how it fits with the team
The most reluctant passers in nba history relative to drive frequency. Mitchell ends this season with 5 of the top 6 spots
Knicks fired Thibs after falling short in the Conference Finals last year. They could’ve said “this is the best we can do” but they didn’t
I’m not pretending injuries or the conference we are in don’t matter, but it’s clear they have benefited a ton from moving on from Thibs. They weren’t scared that he was their best coach who drove the best results for them in years and that they might not do better
The basis of the team was good with Thibs. The team is even better with Brown.
Finch isn’t the best we can do just because of the success we had in his tenure.
