15 years of pain, MRI report

15 years of pain, MRI report

EDIT: This was without contrast. I was expecting (and kind of hoping) for something to be torn. I've basically been doing rotator cuff PT exercises the whole time but I'm still in pain when I abduct my arm or if I swing my arm when walking. Any ideas?

Possible to do surgery with little/no support?

My dad says he will food shop for me but other than that I will be on my own. Don't have anyone to give me rides either so it'll be taxis home from hospital and to PT etc. Does this sound doable?

My life is over and I never even really lived it

I'm lying in bed with too many injuries to fix and I hadn't even lived my life yet. I spent most of it in my own head or sat in a room alone, and now it's too late

Hip jammed

I was asking here about popping and pain in my hip recently. Someone said it sounded like a labrum tear. Well now I'm sat in A&E because this morning I felt something slip and block my leg from raising, stopping me from being able to walk. Has anyone had this happen? Worried :/

Edit: they won't MRI me, and the doctor says they can't help

Edit 2: the jamming in my hip went away on its own and now I am able to walk again. I have to say the NHS is a disgrace. They did not have any crutches or wheelchairs so I was forced to awkwardly hobble around for hundreds of meters on my own just for them to take an x ray and tell me there's nothing they can do for me. I asked for an MRI and was told they can't order that and the waiting list for one is a year. Fuck the NHS.

Feel like my life is over after tearing the meniscus in both knees at the same time

I think my knees have always been a bit hypermobile and I accidentally allowed my knees to hyperextend while on the 45 degree back extension machine. I had no immediate pain but over the next few days I had significant swelling and developed a cracking feeling in my knees when I would pivot or fully extend them. I am waiting on an MRI but I'm 99% sure the menisci in both knees are toast.

I've read the partial meniscectomy surgery to cut out the tears basically leads to arthritis and needing a knee replacement 10 years later. Not a great prospect since I'm only in my 30s. I've never had knee issues before and now suddenly it feels like my life is ruined

How long for the initial pain to settle?

I didn't even know I was injured, the pain and swelling came on over a few days. How long can I expect before the pain settles and I can walk again (without surgery)?

The only thing that has ever helped with my depression has been exercise. Then I injured my back last year with 2 bulging discs. I felt terrible, mentally and physically but I completely changed how I exercised and stopped lifting heavy and I diligently rehabbed myself back to being pain free.

But now I have developed pain in my hips. And while doing rehab exercises for my back I seem to have damaged both of my knees quite severely, I think I have torn the meniscus in both of them. I also have an old shoulder injury from 15 years ago that I was never able to fully rehab and it hurts me most days.

I am only in my 30s and I'm worried what my future is going to look like. I can handle pain but I can't mentally handle loss of function. I was feeling pretty great just one month ago, and now this :/

Since last week I've had pain on the medial side of both knees, just to the side of the kneecap. Most painful when I fully extend my leg, but also painful when I have my legs bent when sitting. Going in and out of maximum extension produces a click/pop in the area, as does twisting on one leg. Both knees are swollen and painful to walk on atm.

There was no traumatic injury, the only thing that could have caused this was my bad habit of allowing my legs to hyperextend when doing back extensions on the 45 degree back extension machine, therefore putting a lot of pressure on the knees. But there was no popping sound or pain or anything...

Hello, I started getting pain in both knees a week ago. The pain happens mostly when sitting with my legs bent and is next to the knee cap, on the inner (medial) side. My kneecap also feels... weird/off when I squat down, which makes me think it might be a tracking issue. Foam rolling my IT band seems to really trigger the inner knee pain too. Both knees crack and pop in that same medial part where I get pain when I extend them fully.

Does this sound like patellar maltracking? Or possibly something else? Any help would be appreciated.. There was no acute injury or a change in activity, they just randomly started to hurt and feel swollen :/

  • Pain when walking as my leg goes back behind my body. Pain is sometimes above the greater trochanter and sometimes more towards the outside. Starts mild and gets worse the further I walk.
  • Snapping/clicking and pain when doing single leg exercises like lunges/split squats or glute bridges. If I put my hand on the outside of my hip I can feel the snapping/clicking with my hand.
  • If I stand on one leg and raise my knee, as I lower my leg back down there is a click in the hip.
  • Hip feels a bit stiff first thing on a morning
  • No pain from sitting

It's hard! One thing I keep struggling with is telling how much water is in my mixtures and what consistency it will have when I apply it to the paper. Maybe it's because I am using palette paper but as I add water to the paint it turns into lots of little beads and I just can't tell how thinned out it really is and find myself guessing. It's very fun though!
