[TotK] [MM] Which follow up do you prefer?

Two games that used the basics of their predecessors but offered new innovations. In MM, you get the three-day time limit, much further utilization of masks, and the ability to transform. In TotK, you get the depths, sky islands, and the build feature. Those games and their predecessors are my favorite Zelda games, but I’m curious what you think specific about their follow ups and which you think is better.

Be kind to the people trying to accommodate you

My mom made Middle Eastern-style stuffed zucchini and eggplant when I visited recently. She specifically made me a batch with whole grains, instead of the more typical white rice. But she used 8 oz. of ground beef in about a dozen zucchini and eggplants spread in a 13x9 tray. I thanked her and ate. Didn’t felt guilty for eating the ground beef, which is fairly negligible. She was very sweet to do it. And hey, I ate with family, an under mentioned part of the MD!

[EoW] Finally finished Echoes of Wisdom and it's excellent

I just finished Echoes of Wisdom, and I think it's a formidable addition to the franchise. In many ways, it takes some of the creative aspects of both Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom and incorporates them into a simpler format that is less intimidating than those giant, open-world games (and yes, those are absolutely phenomenal too).

As far as I know, the order you play the temples is up to the user, and you can access the entire map, basically, right when you begin. Additionally, you collect ingredients to make smoothies. It tracks your quests similar to both BOTW and TOTK. But the puzzle-solving and size of the Temples are more reminiscent of older Zelda games.

Playing as Zelda and echoing enemies and objects is novel, but doesn't make this feel like less of a Zelda game. And it's packed with side quests and collectibles.

It was also the first Zelda game my kid played and she loved it too. So don't overlook this fun game.

Succotash with Butter Beans, Corn, and Red Pepper with Seared Salmon

I followed the recipe pretty much exactly, but used EVOO instead of butter and added zucchini for more veggies. I salted the salmon for a few hours on a rack in the fridge. Then seared, skin side down on a dry cast iron skillet sprinkled with salt.

Diet trends and the MD

I see so much talk about diets, macros, and most of all, protein. And while I think it’s important to think about protein consumption on the MD, I remain convinced that, on average, the MD is the healthiest and most intuitive diet.

It’s hard for me to understand why so much red meat and saturated fat is a path toward health or sustainable eating.

Keep going y’all. Even after meeting my health goals, I’m not changing my lifestyle. Very happy with the MD.

I've been on the diet for a year, keeping it fairly strictly. Trying to eat a lot of veggies, whole grains, and lean protein. I very much avoid saturated fat, added sugar, and simple carbs, too. I also enjoy an occasional meal out when I'm not as strict.

After a year, I got my bloodwork back with good results. I'm sharing to encourage all of us to keep going and to name the effectiveness of this intuitively healthy diet.

Glucose went from 105 to 94.
A1C went from 6 percent to 5.6 percent.
Total cholesterol went from 256 to 163.
HDL from 69 to 67.
LDL from 152 to 83. (edited from "VDL" to "LDL")
VLDL from 35 to 13.
Triglycerides from 197 to 85.
Weight from 176 pounds to 155 pounds.

EDIT: My BP has been stable, but I've been treating that for years (10mg lisinopril). I went on the diet to reduce my A1C and get better lipid panel results, and I'm grateful it's working.

I want to add that one reason I feel like I've been successful with this diet is that I'm a proficient home cook and know how to adapt many recipes to become compliant. I love to cook, which, I think, is crucial to making this diet work.
