Tried labeling why specific parts are spoilered so yall can read what you want

They dont know if you're dead or not, you likely aren't, since who randomly comes up to a hidden room full of dead dudes and kills themself while holding a very specific object in a ship that's cloaked?!<

(Alt ending) >!If you take out the ash twin core before dying into the simulation youl get an ending that says they no longer attack you acter some time!<

(How I took that ending) >!I assume its because they realise at that point you will be officially dead once your flame goes out. They dont want you to die.!<

(Behavior+ alt ending) >!They're pacifists. Sure, they'd readjust your spine if you dont have an artifact with you, but you wouldn't be dead to their knowledge. The only thing that can show the Owlkin if you're dead or not is how much fear hatchling as a character would show, meaning only the fear hatchling shows once they know there wouldn't be another loop to save them— *that's* what would tell them you shouldn't be taken out.!<

(DLC ending + character behavior) >!I've also heard that if you return to a village after seeing the prisoner, they no longer attack (I have yet to test that). The Owlks know the only way to get past the sensors is to die near a flame, so for all they know at that point youre already gone and the secrets are already out.!<

My friend says that my lack of understanding is a sign that I might identify as gender apathetic, so maybe that's why I'm clueless, but it doesn't help explain to me why gender is so closely linked to everybody else's identity, which I would really like to figure out and grow as a person

I just don't get it. Why does it matter who's a guy or girl or neither or both? I'm a woman, but if somebody decides to refer to me as he or they I won't be offended whatsoever. I'd probably correct them so that people don't get confused in the conversation cause in reality I can only think of pronouns as moments when you don't think it's necessary to repeat someone's name or don't know it.

Same with names. I like my name. I think it's pretty and fits me well. If someone didn't know me, I'd tell them my name because that's what's on paper if they need to find me, but if they ask for a nickname to use I freeze because I don't friggin know. They could call me Bill, Suzie, my Oc's name, for all I care they can call me "the autistic gal" and I'd be more offended that they ignored the other people with autism in the room than offended over being reduced to a trait I have.

I still respect people's preferences and refer to them as what they want to be referred to as, because I understand it's important to *them* , I just don't know why it plays such a big role.

Please understand that this doesn't come from a place of hate and I'm not trying to target anyone, I genuinely want to figure out why people value this one specific aspect of who they are so intensely. At this point, I'm starting to think something might just be wrong with me or something because at this point I've never been interested in anyone, struggled with figuring out the difference between appreciation, attraction, and fetishization, never cared much about my present, completely lack the ability to be angry, and apparently can't comprehend what an identity is
