Physical exhaustion + heavy rehydration caught me off guard last night

Thought I’d share an experience from last night regarding how extreme fatigue impacts my bedwetting.

I did a heavy mountain biking session at Unicoi State Park yesterday and drove back home to Atlanta the same day. Between the intense physical exertion and the drive, I was running on empty. Because I was so dehydrated from the trail, I drank a massive amount of water and sports drinks right before crashing.

Normally, when I'm this tired and heavy on fluids, I make sure to put on a GoodNites XXL under my boxers to be safe. Unfortunately, I was just so exhausted that my brain short-circuited. I completely skipped my routine and went straight to sleep in just my boxers, tracks and a beater.

Because of the fatigue, I slept incredibly deeply and woke up to a wet bed this morning.

It's frustrating because I have a plan that works, but the sheer exhaustion made me skip the safety check. Has anyone else noticed that heavy sports days trigger much deeper sleep and worse accidents for you?

Guys, do you wear underwear when swimming?

Guys when you go swimming and are wearing regular shorts 🩳 (so not shorts made specifically for swimming) do you wear underwear under your shorts?

If you wear board shorts for swimming or hanging out you can count them since most are more like regular shorts than swimming shorts.

Well, this was interesting and a bit awkward.

So, as those who have checked my old posts, I consider myself as an 'occasional bedwetter'. I pee the bed like once or twice a month more or less now. Chronic growing up though, like talking even in start of HS was still peeing my bed 1-3 nights a week

So since my bedwetting is infrequent when sleeping at home I typically just use a waterproof mattresses pad and bedwettter's pad to sleep on and just deal with the few wet nights, or even less, a months. When away from my place I typically use GoodNites XXL, or Depend Night Defence S/M. I also use those options at home when either I know my chances of having a wet night have increased (being stressed or over tired) or I know that dealing with a potential wet bed would be a hassle in the morning.

Knowing that I was going to be meeting with friends first thing this morning for breakfast and then going thrifting for the day I wore a GoodNites to bed last night. I set my alarm, so I thought, to get up in time to get ready to meet with my friends at 8 this morning. However I set the alarm on my phone but did not turn it on. So I woke up at 6:50 this morning and was in a panic cause I had to get ready and take a 40-45 minute weekend MARTA schedule (Atlanta) ride to meet my friends. In the rush I got up, brushed teeth, quick shave, dressed, out the door in 15 minutes and got to the MARTA station at 7:15. All was good.....

TBH it was not until after the MARTA ride, meeting up with my friends and when I was sitting down at our breakfast place that I realized I had never taken off my GoodNites. So there I was sitting there with my friends trying to order breakfast all kool and realizing I was wearing pants, boxers, and a GoodNites. 😬

So yeah the rest of the day I was aware I was wearing a GoodNites in public but trying to act kool like it was nothing but at the same time feeling very awkward with my friends.

Thankfully the GoodNites was dry. If I had wet during the night I am sure I would have realized. And before anyone asks, no I did not pee after waking up and getting ready. My first pee of the day was after our breakfast.

Anyone else have a situation where you felt awkward about wearing protection around friends?
