Anyone could tell you this, nothing unique to say here but this particular data is quite interestingly underreported, outside of finance bros anyways. Plus i just want to read more discussion about it. Most of the dialogue around the AI bubble and financial industry collapse is much more abstract and hard for the layman to put into perspective but this graph is a good indicator.
I don't want to dive into the explanations of the underline financial bs that much. But looking at the chart (set view to max), the 2008 crash happened after the spread recovered from below zero. Simply put, this financial measure dipped below a certain threshold, and only upon recovering did the crash happen. (im sure finance bros could do some mental gymnastic to explain how its different this time around, and they might be to some degree but that's rather here nor there).
The severity and time spent in a negative spread (below the threshold) has been magnitudes larger than 2008 or dot com bubble (see graph). But it has recovered and its steadily increasing right now. Mirroring a few months before the 2008 crash.
Pair that with de dollarization on the horizon ect, decades might be happening in weeks sooner rather than later. The "nothing ever happen" crowd is always right.. until theyre very wrong.
The people running the show are more irrational than ever and it will probably backfire in a huge way. In the past the shot callers have been smart enough to protect themselves. But I wouldn't be surprised if they cannibalize each other this time around.
