Serious problem with Blue Yeti (low sound just in one PC)

Hi everyone,

I’m having a really strange issue with my Blue Yeti USB microphone and I’m running out of ideas.

I tried in another PC and it works perfectly: loud, clear, normal gain with no issues at all.

But on my main PC, the audio is extremely low and “flat”.

What I’ve tried:

  • Tested in multiple programs:
    • Audacity
    • Windows Voice Recorder
    • Discord
  • Same result everywhere: very low input level
  • Tried all USB ports (front and back)
  • Reinstalled device drivers
  • Reinstalled chipset drivers (Intel)
  • Disabled audio enhancements in Windows
  • Set mic level to 100%
  • Changed sample rates (44100 / 48000 Hz)
  • Disabled exclusive mode
  • Tested different gain settings on the mic itself
  • Formatted Windows completely

Hardware:

  • Microphone: Blue Yeti
  • Motherboard: BIOSTAR H310MHC
  • CPU: Intel i5
  • RAM: 16GB

Important detail:

On a different PC, the microphone works perfectly without changing anything, so the mic itself is definitely fine.

My conclusion so far:

It seems like something in my main PC (possibly motherboard behavior) is reducing the input level globally, but I’m not sure.
