I have plenty of time on water, and I’m comfortable in class IV, but I’ve always used borrowed gear. I’ve combat rolled both onside and offside, and can hand roll on flat water in a playboat. My surfing is good, eddy turns solid, etc.

The rivers I’ll be running in Maine, New Hampshire, and Mass are mostly class III, with sections slightly above and plenty below. I want to have as much fun as I can in class III while not being scared in class IV. So, half slice or full slice?

The full slice I’m looking at is the dagger supernova. And the half slices I’m considering are the antix 2 or 3, or the Pyranha storm, or similar.
