PTown or Barnstable for whales?

I know they both go to the same place but I'm wondering which is more recommended? We are starting out in Dennisport and it's two adults and older elementary kids. I like the idea of Hyannis Whale tour in Barnstable because it's closer driving...but maybe it's worth it to spend the whole day in PTown and go with Dolphin Fleet? We are only on the Cape for three days of free exploring before we have wedding festivities all weekend, so likely doing the whales on Wednesday or Thursday.

Thanks in advance!

Best place for a blow out?

Looking for the best hair salon that would do a trim on looooong, thick hair and then a blow out. Suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Edit to add-- Mid/south side. Going to be in Dennisport.

Ideas for family in July? Give me your best takes, please.

I'm a New England girl who's never been to the Cape. (Surprise!) A sibling has decided that he's having his wedding in Dennis Port in the middle of July and I'm bringing kids with me.

I'm looking for the best things to do, eat, and see. Am really looking for great things to do on a Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday but then also Saturday (daytime) before the wedding itself. We are staying at a hotel that is right on the beach, so I'm looking for ideas beyond the typical go to the beach. I think there's whale watching and checking out seals on the north side? But I don't want to do anything that's too typically tourist trap-y while still seeing the best the Cape has to offer.

If you read this far please give me your best tips or tricks or places to eat, things to see, and definite must do's as if this is a once-in-a-lifetime trip. The kids range in age from 8-12.

Thank you!
