Issue with an old Sansui A-505 amp

I picked up an old Sansui A-505 - a solid little 30W/channel integrated amp from the early '80s - to set up in a pied-a-terre I have. Since I won't be there often, I'm not looking to invest in a crazy setup, you know just something simple and decent-sounding.

I connected my turntable to the amp, on the back, row A, but I can't get it to understand why Im not able to get both speakers (both are Sonus Faber and very good quality) working at the same time. I've checked that all the audio outputs work, the cables work, and both speakers do work individually.

This problem is really starting to drive me crazy, you know especially since I remember running into a similar issue in the past but I really can't remember how I solved it. If you happen to have an idea, I'd love to hear it.

How do you read a borderline 9-10s period on the forecast?

On a coastal trip right now trying to actually dial in my forecast reading while I've got the time even though it feels like a bit of a lost cause but here we are....How do you tell a clean groundswell from windswell apart when the period's borderline (9-10s)? I keep getting caught out on days that look fine on the forecast but end up mushy.
