Please Help... what are we missing

We have a beautiful 8.5 year old Chiweenie named Hider, he is 18.6 pounds for reference & always been healthy, he is our love. He has been unwell since 7/30, multiple vet visits, no answers. I am wondering if some outside perspectives can make suggestions or help us figure out how to stress to the vet how serious this is.

Here are his symptoms:

  1. On 7/30 was given Bravecto. Vomited an hour after ingestion. Was mostly normal until next day

  2. By 7/31 Hider was lethargic and had a diminished appetite

  3. Called his vet to tell them what happened with the Bravecto and that he was still itching really bad, he is extremely allergic to fleas- vet prescribed a medicated shampoo and i bathed him, this somewhat helped the itching but was still very uncomfortable itching and biting his skin and shaking his head like there was something near his ears. FYI, I used a flea comb multiple times and he only had 2 total fleas at two separate times and nothing since

  4. By around 8/2 he was very lethargic and not eating, still drinking water but only ate a tiny bit once a day.- the rest of this week

(8/3 - 8/7) he would seem mostly normal for a day or two and then go back to lethargy and little to no appetite

  1. By Sunday 8/9 he did not eat at all except 2 small bites of unseasoned chicken breast. By this day he was so lethargic and we kept finding him hiding under the bed in our guest room which is very unlike him, he usually is always near us but would not come when we called him and just stayed under the bed. He loves chasing his little laser around so I tried that, he really tried but was too tired and gave up after a couple laps, totally unlike him.

  2. This Monday 8/10 my hisband called me and said he was getting worse so I called his vet and they had us bring him in right away. We left him there for about 5 hours before they called to tell us to come pick him up. They said his bloodwork was normal and that they did radiography. They said the DR did not see anything on the films but sent it to a specialist to read anyways. They said no fever or anything they could find. Sent us with a prescription for an appetite stimulant and gabbepentin.

  3. 8/11- no changes, not eating at all, drinking water, no interest in food until I made him some plain rice with a few pieces of shrimp at dinner just to try to get him to eat something. He put it in his mouth and we could tell he wanted to eat it but kept chewing a little then spitting out. He went back to it several times but could not or would not eat. Gave the appetite stimulant which did nothing.

  4. Called vet again today, no change, no food, little water, no energy. Took a stool sample (picture #3) to them which was very very dark. Said if no change bring him tomorrow, which i will become of course there is no change.

FYI- there is no tenderness in or around his tummy or anywhere really, according to the vet no fever either. U

Radiology result was told to me like this:

There is nothing to worry about but they did see a mass in his stomach but THINK it is just fluid and a slightly enlarged liver. Like whattl the actual F?????

So now, I am calling tomorrow morning because he has not eaten anything since Sunday evening, and is barely moving, sleeps or lays around all day with no energy.

What are we missing? Why will he not eat? Why no energy? Why is bloodwork "normal"? What more can I ask or stress to them? I am.no vet, I don't know what else I can do... he has been under the weather before of course but the longest he has ever gone without eating is maybe a day and a half. He is very food motivated so to eat nothing, no treats, no human or pet food, literally nothing....

I feel like I am letting him down. I dont know what else to do. Help please if you have any ideas or suggestions. Thank you for reading....

My best buddy

My bestie, Hider! He is almost 9 and forever my baby boy! We adopted him when he was 1 yr old from a shelter, he was rescued from the California wildfires in 2018. He was the only one at the shelter we could not see because he was hiding in a little igloo house but we could hear him crying.

We asked to see him and he immediately came out and flopped on his back so we could pet his belly, his little ears were nipped from the other doggies bullying him, we instantly fell in love.

We weren't prepared that day so told the shelter we would be back to get him the following day, we made it a mile down the road before we turned around to go get him, we couldn't imagine leaving him one more night to be sad and scared.

He has been our sunshine and light ever since. He makes everything better, he is so loving, loyal. Funny, goofy, happy, and just the best boy. Can't imagine our lives without our little guy.

Actually though... i don't get it. Why TF do people refuse to use their turn signal?

It is literally the EASIEST, FASTEST, AND SIMPLEST thing you can do as a driver to not cause an accident and to be flipping courteous to others.

It shows the entitlement of people these days. Like, im too good I don't even need to use a blinker...

NEWS FLASH!!!! YESSSSSSS YOU DO
