Hi all,

I repair & sell mid-century watches in a jewellery store and someone in the store who sells random stuff has a UG Polerouter Automatic in.

They’re asking I think £295 from memory for this

It sounds like a good opportunity for me, as I know they’re valuable.

I’d replace the glass and service the movement

What I’m not sure about is the dial - could the smudges be easily cleaned with a combination of common watchmakers tools ie rodico, or is that basically an impossible job?

If I didn’t clean the dial but changed the glass & oiled it, what is a reasonable expectation to get if I resold this online?

Had this come into my shop and frankly, I have no idea what it’s worth. I thought it was really cool, but I really don’t know the value.

It’s from ‘Torneau’ and made in the 1980s, looks like a Peseux 7040 movement which I’ve seen skeletonized bridges on before aplenty but never in an actual skeleton watch.

Bucherer and VC popularised this design and Bucherer bought Torneau in 2018.

That’s about all I’ve got, based on a quick search of the brand.
