I recently picked up a Movado watch and I’m trying to figure out if it’s authentic or not. The case has multiple reference numbers like 81 N2 1890 and 7110644, and I’ve also noticed markings behind the dial.
The movement itself doesn’t say Movado on it, but it does say “Swiss Parts” and mentions Thailand movement. Also has a stamp behind dial with the reference number
Everything looks pretty clean and well-made, but I’ve seen mixed opinions online about what Movado movements are supposed to look like.
Has anyone come across this before? Do Movado watches from certain eras use Swiss parts with Thailand assembly, or is that usually a red flag?
Exactly what it says in the title. I’m trying to determine if I need to do some gentle cleanup of the dial.
Got this NOS Longines, reference L43934902
Documenting it on reddit since there are not many posts or info about this model online.
I think the case size is 26x32mm, but I am not sure - it obviously wears super small on my 7” wrist, but I have been playing with smaller references for some time and I quite enjoy it. I only have another tank watch in this size, so I will still need to get fully accustomed.
The bracelet, shape and colours are something rather unique!
Currently looking for some extra links as the pictures might show.
Do any vintage experts have any details on this piece? I have not been able to find a comparable model with the integrated bracelet.
Thank you in advance!
Hi everyone, I inherited this awhile back and I’m only just taking a closer look now. It appears to be one of the more obscure (?) Universal Geneve divers, but it seems to be missing a black outer ring?
Grateful for more information if anyone has some!
Acquired this beauty from a bag of broken watches. I plan to take it apart, clean it out, and give it a good polish. Any suggestions on other things to do with it? Debating re-painting the bezel.
Picked this up at an estate sale. Could you tell me more about this watch and any potential red flags?
Still looks sharp after almost 50 years
My friend recently inherited this from her mother. Can anyone help her identify what she has?
I just bought this as legit but i dont know, it seems it is as A7 from around 1960, checked and it seems the movement could be donbe by bulova, Hamilton or Elgin but nothing else.
Not yet received i am pretty sure the movement is like the third picture (got from an ebay sale)
What makes me thing i legit is the sphere, is doesnt have the H3 or Radiation logo which is ok for a watch before 1970, so far so good.
Any ideas how could be the maker?
Pictures with time, the one i bought.
Pictures with no time and better quality, the ones from the ebay auction.
Would love to try and find this bracelet for a diver I recently purchased. Anyone know the name or any brand that still makes this style of bracelet?
Thanks!
Never thought i would be the one with a 'barn find' to post and I am feeling incredibly lucky. Right place, right time! I cant help but wonder about the life this watch has lived and how it ended up on a flea market table in VT today.
The pusher for the chrono reset isn't working but besides that it is happily ticking. Case back is really tight and I was not able to remove it to check the movement. Appears all original, what do you guys think?
paid $30 for it and then bought a new battery and it fired right up. Also came with a breitling deployment clasp.
