His front fell off?

My ottos have decided they are fully nocturnal now so I rarely see them, and apparently this guy has also decided he doesn't need a nose anymore. The other ottos are fine, this guy was acting completely normal when I spotted him, and the only other tank mates are pygmy cories so nobody is chomping on him unless one of the other ottos is secretly a cannibal.

He's in quarantine time out now with the sad java ferns (as you can see) where he can't hide as easily so I can monitor him. He'll get a round of antibiotics if it gets worse but for now he'll just get fresh water every day.

I tried searching but couldn't find anything that looked like this, or to this extent. It doesn't look bacterial or fungal to me (no fuzzy growth, no other patches of discoloration) so I think he might just really like slamming his face into the glass at a full head of speed or something.

(Tagged nsfw out of courtesy, even though he's alive)

Some Caridina cf. babaulti photos for your enjoyment.

I got a real camera and I have no idea what I'm doing, but somehow I got a few decent pictures to share. Hopefully Reddit doesn't compress them to death.

edit: yep, reddit did the thing and smooshed them.

I was so excited to finally find a rubber boa I only got this one picture.

It was super docile and didn't mind being held for a few minutes while I moved it to an area where it wouldn't be stepped on.

One of my eggnant ladies came up front for a picture today.

Unfortunately it was the most recently berried lady so she isn't as rotund as the others yet.

(bonus rhabdocoela worm full of shrimp food on the right)

Cheap stone on Amazon

I don't know if I'm allowed to share a link, but this 20 pound pack of dragon stone was only $25 which is by far the cheapest I've seen. The same listing has seiryu for $1.36/pound too but I didn't order any.

I was expecting rocks packed with clay and hours of scrubbing and digging out the holes but these were surprisingly clean, which is good because I'm lazy.

Photos are unedited, these tiny little guys are just really neat looking up close (and apparently the black diamond blasting grit isn't all black).

Two males and a female. I just started playing with a super cheap clip on macro lens so hopefully I can get some higher quality photos soon because these photos don't do them any justice.
