Emergency allergy bath for Júpiter — the betrayal in his eyes 😅

Bath time caught Júpiter completely off guard today. He's got allergies, so regular baths are a must to keep his skin calm, but the second that hose came out he gave me the most dramatic "how could you" look.

He put up the full protest at first — total meltdown like I was committing a crime — but a few minutes in he just accepted his fate. This dog will stare down any squirrel in the neighborhood without blinking, but lukewarm water? Personal attack.

Anyone else's dog turn bath time into a full telenovela? Drop your stories below 👇

My German Shepherd scratches until he bleeds every allergy season — here's what finally worked for us

Júpiter has been dealing with seasonal allergies for years and every spring it's the same nightmare. He scratches the same spots over and over until the skin breaks and gets infected.

After a lot of trial and error (and expensive vet visits) we finally have a routine that actually works:

🐾 The cone goes on IMMEDIATELY — every day without it is damage that has to heal

🐾 Chlorhexidine shampoo 2-3x per week during flare ups

🐾 Antiseptic spray daily on the affected areas

🐾 Limit grass time and wipe him down after every walk

🐾 Daily skin checks — belly, armpits, paws, behind ears

The biggest mistake we made for years was waiting too long to act. By the time we put the cone on the damage was already bad and recovery took weeks.

Has anyone else dealt with this? What worked for your GSD?

Pluto and his ball — this dog would choose his ball over food any day 😂🐾

This is Pluto, my 3 year old German Shepherd. The ball is not a toy to him — it is a lifestyle. It does not matter if it is old, dirty or half destroyed. If there is a ball nearby, nothing else exists in his world 😂

He could be sleeping, eating, doing literally anything — the second he sees a ball he is a completely different dog.

Anyone else's GSD have this obsession? 🎾🐾

My GSD cries every time I leave — separation anxiety that's tied to his bond with our other dog

Plutón (3yo German Shepherd) has separation anxiety but the twist is: it's not just about us leaving. It's about his brother Júpiter.

If Júpiter goes somewhere without him, Plutón cries the entire time. Júpiter gets a little restless — Plutón completely falls apart. They've been inseparable since Plutón was a puppy and Júpiter is literally his emotional anchor.

Things that actually help us:

Keeping them together whenever possible (biggest game changer by far)

Boring, low-energy departures — no long emotional goodbyes

Calm arrivals too — wait for him to settle before greeting

Frozen peanut butter toy right before we leave

Always exercise them first

He's not destructive, not hurting himself — just genuinely sad when we're gone and absolutely ecstatic when we're back 😅

Does anyone else have two bonded dogs where one handles separation WAY worse than the other? Is this a GSD thing or just a Plutón thing? 😂

My German Shepherd started making a horrible honking sound at 3am and I panicked 😰

Pluto woke me up at 3am making the scariest sound I've ever heard. I genuinely thought something was seriously wrong with him.

Turns out it was just reverse sneezing. Completely harmless but absolutely terrifying when you don't know what it is 😅

I wrote everything I learned about it here in case anyone else goes through this: jupiterandplutochaos.vercel.app/articles/german-shepherd-reverse-sneezing.html

Does anyone else's GSD do this? Pluto does it almost every morning now 😂🐾

Two German Shepherds living their best life at the park 🐾

Nothing makes them happier than being outside, running around and just enjoying life 🥹

Pure joy, zero worries… just two shepherds doing what they love most

Question: What’s your dog’s absolute favorite thing to do? 🐕

My two German Shepherds finally sitting still long enough for a photo — meet Jupiter & Pluto!

Getting both of them to cooperate for a photo is basically a miracle. Jupiter acts unbothered. Pluto is always mid-chaos. These two are my whole world. Anyone else have a calm one and a wild one? 😂

Júpiter is serious, alert and thinks he owns the house. Pluto is dramatic, sensitive and cries if you look at him wrong 😄

Same breed, completely opposite dogs. Anyone else have two GSDs with totally different personalities?
