Never Had a Technical Hands On Experience (project Implementation)

Hi everyone

I am a solutions Architect at a cybersecurity distributor. I am totally aware of all cybersecurity technologies from features/benefits perspectives. I can go deep with demonstrations, etc. but never had the hands on experience of implementing/ POCing any of them (even in a lab).

Does this affect my career path? Should I have that hands on in order to get the chance moving into a vendor?

SE Interview

I had a screening interview with the SE Director of a cybersecurity vendor today and he told me that I passed, I think he liked me already. However, he said to me that next round will be a Two hours call with him only, he gave me a hint about the nature of the interview, its gonna be all around strategic thinking, customer objection handling, etc.

He already asked one question for me to understand, its was “why OT attacks became more popular nowadays while before they were very limited”, the correct answer was because OT networks are not fully air gapped anymore, they are now connected with IT networks. I managed to say the correct answer but after couple of attempts.

Now, I want to know if anybody can help me list down more questions on the same pattern. I already had the help of ChatGPT which gave me some good staff, but I need also your help.

Thanks..

No New Pipeline - Shall I quit?

I’ve been in Cybersecurity sales field for 4 years now, covering a small region of 4 countries. I feel like I am almost done, no new opportunities, no new projects coming, I am on top of my buisness but I feel like I’ll be reaching a dead point soon where there is no new pipeline at all !!

Anyone faced this before?

Do you recommend to start searching for a new company to work with?
