Recommendations?

I'd love to see any dresses you've worn that turned out well and you recommend! I'm in Canada.
I cannot fathom paying the prices at the typical wedding stores so have turned online after doing some shopping to find what I like. Budget around $500 but the cheaper the better..
I do not want the typical princess dress, but rather something that I could conceivably wear somewhere else later too! Maybe not.. but I don't want it to scream I AM A WEDDING DRESS.
I love a v or square neck. Thick straps or cap sleeve. Mermaid so it is fitted to my body but has some swish at the bottom. Midi or floor length but no train. Either beaded or a nice plain satin fabric and can add some sparkle to it! I’m lanky and skinny with small chest so looking to complement that :)
I've found a few good options but nothing exactly right yet!!

A friend and I are attending each others weddings, about a month apart. Would it be weird to ask if they’re cool not doing gifts? I’m imagining giving them cash and them giving us the same cash back and it seems like a waste of time 😂 tell me if it would be awful or too awkward

We are NOT painting the bricks!! We are painting the stone at the front of the house that wraps around to the side of the porch (the grey in the left of the first pic). I hate the grey. Got a bunch of paint chips to try and see what will work best with the brick… all considering doing two tones of the same colour rather than one solid all over colour! Any input?

We will certainly be removing wires and cleaning the brick up as possible.. but for today they came in handy :)
