I thought the classic literature just wasn’t for me. Crime and Punishment was a chore for me to get through, Pride and Prejudice I found just ok, I’ve tried the philosophical and political classics like Machiavelli.

I figured I’d give The Count of Monte Cristo, just finished it and fell in love. It’s genuinely my favorite book of all time. So, where do I turn next?

My 7 year old nonverbal daughter usually gets twice as aggressive when she has strep, it’s often the only way we can tell she had it. She gets extra tired and very aggressive. The last week and a half she has been violent around the clock, worse than ever. I posted about me losing my mind over it a day or two ago.

I took her in today and she tested negative for strep. I really think something is wrong, because despite her aggressive/violent tendencies, the frequency is suddenly more than ever before. We have no idea what to do next. She’s not grabbing her ears, head, no signs of telling us if something hurts, but something is clearly off.

My 7 year old is growing more physical by the year. She can’t handle no, the smallest frustration immediately sends her off the edge, and she goes on the attack. Biting, kicking, pulling hair, scratching, it’s like a possession and I don’t mean that in jest. Her eyes gloss over and she screams, injures and destroys anything she can.

For years, it only happened at night when she would wake up in the middle of it. Now she’s older, bigger and the frequency can be hourly and last 20 mins. It’s the worst for myself and my 13 year old daughter, but my wife gets it too.

We’ve done every therapy, had early intervention, etc. It’s pushing me mentally over the edge. One can only take so much physical assault. I have no idea what to do. It gets so bad the thought of causing emotional damage to my eldest is the only thing keeping me from checking out.

3 different people tonight, not a single dollar. Ordering 70 dollars in food and can’t tip a single dollar is crazy. I wish you could just block those people on principle.

Side note, had one lady tip me through the app and then give me 20 dollars cash when we pulled up, I presume because she seen my daughter and I dashing together, because she asked her to hold on, then went and got cash. Shout out to the amazing humans.

But I’m starting to itch for some insight of life after the war, especially in the South as well as something from the Black perspective, either through the war, start of the war, after, or all of the above. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Really needed a side job, so I signed up and took my daughter along. We did 4 hours and made 85 dollars. Crazy how much I learned in the 4 hours. Not doing any more ice cream or smoothie places, think I might do an hourly rate for double pick ups when McDonald’s is involved because that was brutal.

I’m pretty happy with the trial run, but I have no idea how we did.

Typically when I see the cost of housing discussed in regard to California, demand is always brought up, and while supply and demand is obvious, I was curious just how much more supply vs 100k people the other most populated states have and was shocked. Imagine what would happen to housing cost in California if there was 20% more dwellings inline w/ Florida, or even 10% more to align w/ Texas. Should be at the front of every political campaign in the state.

California has ~35,800 dwellings per 100k people.

Florida has ~45,000 dwellings per 100k people. ~20- 25% more.

New York has ~ 43,000 dwellings per 100k people. ~17- 20%

Texas has ~40,000 dwellings per 100k people. ~6- 11% more.

For 7 yrs we’ve felt like there was make going on with our daughter than ASD. Always felt like she had some other serious neuro issues. Today, a neurologist told us he doesn’t think she’s autistic, but her skull size is smaller by quite a bit than where it should be, and suspects she’s not getting the growth in her myelin sheaths around her brain found in typical development and growth.

We are moving forward with an MRI and other testing, but just curious if anyone else has been down this road.
