I got this email a few minutes ago after submitting a selfie video through Facebook’s recovery process.

The email said, “Good news: You can now unlock your account.” When I clicked the unlock link, it first showed that my account was unlocked and then asked me to enter a verification code sent to my phone.

But after that, it redirected me back to the disabled account page again.

Does this mean my account wasn’t actually recovered, or is Facebook still processing the recovery?

My account was disabled on April 4 for an “account integrity” issue. I appealed multiple times without results, so I tried the selfie video recovery method.

Has anyone experienced the same thing?

Hi everyone,

I’m dealing with a disabled Facebook account under “account integrity,” and I’m trying to understand the correct way to escalate this beyond standard appeals.

I’ve already submitted an appeal, but the case has been stuck in review for over 22 days with no response.

I’m now planning to send a formal demand letter to Meta Platforms. Since I’m not based in the UK or US, a friend of mine in London (who has a legal background and works in the legal sector) is willing to assist me with drafting and sending it.

Before moving forward, I’d really appreciate insight from anyone who has actually gone through this process:

  • Should the demand letter be sent to Meta’s US headquarters or their UK/EU entity (like Meta Platforms Ireland Limited)?
  • Does sending through a UK-based contact make any real difference in terms of response or escalation?
  • What are the key elements that made your demand letter effective (structure, tone, legal references)?
  • Did you send it personally or through a legal professional?
  • How long did it take to get a response, if any?

For context, this is a long-standing personal account and I strongly believe the disablement is a mistake.

I’m not looking for generic advice. I’m specifically interested in real experiences, templates, or steps that actually worked.

Thanks in advance for any help.
