Sending Love to Sawandi Wilson and His Family ❤️

Sawandi Wilson, Dr. Isaiah Gannon on GH, shared the frightening experience surrounding the birth of his and wife Anna Eilinsfeld’s baby girl, along with a heartfelt thank-you to the medical team who cared for them. Thankfully, in a follow up post, Anna says she and the baby are recovering well.

Sending lots of love to Sawandi, Anna and their new little one. ❤️

GH Weekly Promo: What Does Drew Want From Ava?

This week on General Hospital, everyone seems to be looking for a partner in crime.

Ric has a plan to keep Dante and Elizabeth from getting any closer, and he wants Lulu in on it. Drew is making moves of his own, approaching Ava with an offer to help him go after Sonny. Whether Ava is willing to turn on Sonny is another question entirely.

And at Pentonville, Sonny comes face-to-face with Sidwell.

Looks like Port Charles is about to get very crowded with deals, schemes and uneasy alliances.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: WSB FIELD OFFICE

Latter’s, aka u/LatterPhilosopher355, post of Brennan and Cullum on the beach earlier today got us thinking.

And really, the answer is obvious:
GH needs a half-hour WSB spinoff.

Give these two a mission every week. Brennan ignores protocol. Cullum gets progressively more irritated. Something explodes, somebody gets wet, Port Charles is somehow saved by the closing credits.

We already have the cast. We have the poster. We even have the tagline:

Assigned to save Port Charles.
Destined to annoy each other.

ABC, we’ve done the hard part. Get to work.

Trina and Kai Told Michael the Truth. Did It Feel Like a Big Deal?

Trina and Kai have just dropped a bomb on Michael: Willow shot Drew, and they don’t trust her anywhere near the kids. That’s a significant reveal, but instead of going to the police, they’ve gone straight to Michael, who is already plotting his next move.

Surprisingly, the reaction online feels pretty muted. Come to think of it, a lot of things seem a little muted right now, but I digress.

After Willow’s trial and then all the Sidwell/Cullum stuff, going back to this almost feels like picking up a book I’d already put down because I wasn’t that into it. We know Willow shot Drew. Several characters know. At this point, it feels more like we’re slogging through the remaining loose ends. I couldn’t help but wonder if other people feel the same.

Are you still invested in seeing exactly how all of this plays out, or are you mostly ready for the story to completely wrap up so GH can move on to something fresher?

Another Lululemen PSA: Steady State Zippers

Steady State has been redesigned as Steady State Superloft, and one of the changes is a much more substantial exposed metal zipper on the Half Zips and Full Zips.

First photo is the outgoing Steady State in True Navy, where the zipper basically disappears into the garment. The next two are the new Superloft. That zipper is honking in person. It doesn’t jump out nearly as much in the website photos, but it’s significant.

And apparently Steady State isn’t alone. Last photo is Smooth Spacer Colourblock.

There are other changes to the new Steady State, but this change caught my eye because I personally prefer hardware to blend in rather than become a design feature.

Just another heads-up if you’re ordering online and care about that sort of thing.

FYI: Sassy Sage varies a LOT by fabric

Noticed a significant color variation in Sassy Sage at Lululemon today. The Zeroed In Track Jacket is a much greener sage, while the Zeroed In Long Sleeve reads noticeably darker and more olive/gray. These are just two examples, but it was happening across several pieces and fabrics.

I expect some tonal variation between fabrics, but not this much. Just a heads up if you’re ordering online or trying to put together a matching set.

The Great Port Charles Cast Exchange Program

Well, that was efficient. Michael dumped Jacinda, handed her a nice little “investment in your future” check, and apparently Paige Herschell is gone. We didn’t even get a Jacinda/Ezra goodbye aside from maybe the peck on the cheek the other day.

Sidwell took a plea deal and went to prison entirely offscreen, because why bother finishing stories onscreen when you can just mention the ending in a quick chat with gift of flowers?

So, bye Maxie, Spinelli, James, Cassius, Cullum, Sidwell, Kevin, Marco, Pascal, Ethan and now Jacinda. Not to mention Kristina, Georgie, and Bailey Lou. I’m probably forgetting somebody. I just left out NuEthan and recasts.

But don’t worry, everybody. We still have the decision in Curtis’s trial coming and Gio and Trina’s music career. Try to contain yourselves.

Meanwhile, Serena, Peter August, Dudson, Detective Joe, and Dr. Tristan Roberts have returned or arrived, so this isn’t exactly “everybody out.” It’s more of a very aggressive cast exchange program. And yes, I can already hear the casting-demographics discussion warming up.

Half the audience has spent years yelling, “The cast is too bloated! Finish stories and cut people!” The other half keeps yelling, “We need new blood!”

GH apparently heard both and said, “Fine. Some of y’all get out. New people, get in.”
Nobody wins, but at least everybody still gets to complain. 😂

Apparently We Need to Talk About Chad Duell-y.

So apparently Chad Duell left General Hospital and became Duelly, which is information I was not prepared to receive. Yes, for those of you who hadn’t heard, Chad Duell is making music now. And yes, he calls himself Duelly. That was not an unfortunate typo.

He dropped his second single, Static in the Quiet Room, this week. And I listened. For journalism.

Verdict: Better than the first one. Barely. 😂

The first Duelly experience nearly blew out my hearing devices. This most recent Duelly track only made me check to see if they were malfunctioning.

But hey, he says he’s experimenting and trying to find his sound, and I actually respect anyone willing to try something completely different after playing Michael Corinthos for 15 years.

So click the Spotify link and give Duelly a listen and report back. I need to know whether I’m hearing music or just getting static. 🎧

Laura Wright Isn’t Going Anywhere: Carly’s Staying in Port Charles 🎉

Good news for Carly fans: Laura Wright confirmed on X today that she has signed a new contract with General Hospital. “I’m not going anywhere ❤️❤️ just signed a new contract!!!” she said.

Wright will mark 21 years as Carly this November, after taking over the role in 2005. Whatever Carly is getting herself into next, Laura will be around to do it. And after nearly 21 years, I’d say Port Charles would feel awfully strange without her.

Congratulations, Laura! ❤️

Willow’s Fun-Filled Family Afternoon 💕

OK, so Jacinda spikes Willow’s drink with enough ketamine to tranquilize half of Port Charles.

Wiley: takes a few sips.

Willow guzzles it and five minutes later: WHO WANTS TO GO DO SOMETHING FUN?! 😃

Wait.

She’s smiling. She’s enthusiastic. She wants to spend time with the kids. She hasn’t glared at anyone, kidnapped anyone, lied to anyone, stabbed anyone or mentioned Drew in almost ten minutes.

Holy shit. Jacinda may have accidentally fixed Willow.

Meanwhile, poor Wiley took a few sips and is seeing colors we don’t have names for, but suddenly Mom seems fun as hell for a change.

I know we’re all waiting for something horrible to happen, but it would be objectively hilarious if the immediate result of this entire disaster is just that the kids have the best afternoon they’ve had with their mother in months. 😂

GH Alum Eva LaRue Is Going Back to Pine Valley, and My AMC Heart Is Ridiculously Happy!

Eva LaRue, recently GH’s Natalia, will be central to Lifetime’s first planned All My Children reunion movie as Maria Santos Grey along with legendary Susan Lucci as Erica Lane. Former GH head writer Ron Carlivati is also co-writing it with long time AMC fan historian, new Y&R co-head writer and Daytime Confidential founder Jamey Giddens.

The second planned movie will even give us a glimpse of Hayley and Mateo. Having now established jurisdiction, I can say what I actually came here to say: WE’RE GETTING MORE PINE VALLEY! 😂

Lucy and Serena? Yes, please.

Lynn Herring is ABC Daytime royalty, and Lucy Coe has decades of heart, history, comedy and glorious chaos behind her. The writing hasn’t always given her enough to do lately, so I’m genuinely excited by the possibility that Serena’s return could put Lucy back where she belongs: at the center of a real story.

I’ve wanted Serena back for years. She’s exactly the kind of return GH should be making: a legacy character with deep roots, built-in relationships and plenty of Baldwin/Coe mischief that doesn’t require the mob, the WSB or another stolen flash drive. She can shake things up while still feeling completely at home in Port Charles.

Serena doesn’t need to be compared to Maxie or anyone else. She has her own history, family and place on the canvas. My hope is that Lucy gets to shine, Serena gets room to become a leading character in her own right, and Scott eventually finds his way home when the time is right.

Serena has barely unpacked, and I already want to see what these two get into. 💕

Hudson’s “Baby” Has Been Living Rent Free in My Head. ⭐

😂 The way he says “baby” somehow lands somewhere between “bay-bee,” “beh-beh,” and “Bébé.” I can’t stop giggling at this clip I made.

To be fair, everyone deserves a chance to settle into a new role. But this whole scene was unintentionally hilarious. Hudson is supposed to come across like some international badass, yet I’m getting “slightly intimidating assistant manager at Enterprise Rent-A-Car” instead.

One word. So many choices. Hudson’s “Bébé” is living rent free in my head.

Oh, and that hotel room was the set “All My Children” used for JR and Babe Chandler’s bedroom in the Chandler Mansion. It also doubled as a European hotel room anytime Pine Valley residents flew across the pond. Hard to believe the set is still in use 14 years after AMC’s cancellation. GH picked up all of AMC’s new LA sets at the time. But I digress…

Hudson’s “beh-beh” was unexpected comedy in yesterday’s episode. Sometimes it’s the little things. 😂

New Week, New Plans Spell Trouble in Port Charles

The week is underway in Port Charles, and several people are already making moves.
Here’s your first look!

GH in Print: When One Ad Had to Sell the Whole Story

Before teasers, social clips and endless previews, General Hospital sometimes had one printed page to make you tune in.

I’ve always loved a good print campaign, so I pulled together some of the better GH examples I could find. This collection moves from the original 1963 premiere ad through anniversary tributes, the glamorous “Daydream in Daytime” series, major storyline campaigns and those wonderfully dramatic newspaper ads that promised romance, danger, betrayal and Robert Scorpio staring intensely at someone.

Some are genuinely beautiful. Some are gloriously over-the-top. A few are so specific to their era that they feel like tiny GH time capsules. Together, they show how the series promoted itself across the decades, one photograph and one irresistible headline at a time.

Take a look and tell me which one would have made you tune in. And yes, Decker apparently once merited his own full-page campaign.

What if the most ordinary person in Port Charles accidentally became the center of the biggest story in town?

We always hear about ordinary people caught in extraordinary circumstances, but GH rarely commits to the idea. Most of the time the “ordinary” person turns out to be a secret relative, a person we thought was dead, a WSB agent, or someone living a double life. What if one time the ordinary person driving a story was just exactly who they seem to be?

Which brings me to Nurse Deanna Sirtis.

Nurse Deanna has appeared in more than 90 episodes of General Hospital, quietly keeping the hospital running while everyone else’s stories unfold. Maybe it’s time she had one of her own.

Not because she’s secretly related to anyone or hiding a shocking past, but because she’s exactly who she’s always been. Deanna is one of the worker bees who picks up extra shifts, grabs coffee between patients, goes home exhausted, eats dinner, watches her favorite soap, scrolls for a few minutes, goes to bed, and gets up to do it all again. She’s just living the life so many of us do, trying to make it through another day while the chaos of Port Charles swirls around her.

Until one completely ordinary day turns into the least ordinary day of her life.

Maybe she notices one small detail on a report everyone else misses. Or she leaves Bobbie’s with the wrong tote bag. Or she overhears a conversation she was never meant to hear. Perhaps she finds someone where they shouldn’t be. Nothing dramatic at first. Just one tiny moment that quietly snowballs into the biggest story in town.

And then suddenly Jason, Anna, Brennan, Chase and half of Port Charles are convinced Nurse Deanna knows something important. By the time she realizes she’s become the main character, she doesn’t know who to trust.

That’s a story I’d want to see. Don’t reveal she’s a long-lost anything. Don’t retcon anything. Don’t turn her into an action hero. Although watching Nurse Deanna outfox a few bad guys wouldn’t exactly disappoint me.

Let her stay a nurse who’s suddenly trapped in a situation far bigger than herself. She has to figure out who’s lying, who’s telling the truth, and how to survive the insanity she always managed to stay outside of while she’s earning a living.

Sometimes I think the most interesting character in the room is the one who never expected to be there.

Would you watch that?

Another strong week for General Hospital.

GH topped 2 million viewers for the second consecutive week on ABC while continuing its remarkable Hulu run.

During the July 12–18 tracking week, GH was in Hulu’s Top 5 every single day, including #1 on Wednesday and Thursday and #2 on Tuesday and Friday.

No single ratings report tells the whole story, but taken together, the recent broadcast gains and consistently strong streaming performance paint a very encouraging picture for the show. 📺🎉
