We have a beautifully designed, well-lored, engaging casual extraction shooter that got millions hooked in a moment. No game breaking bugs, no serious performance issues. The stage was set for everyone to be able to play, and the development team *who is actively listening to us and engaging with their player base more than most other developers* are trying to make it less casual for the more dedicated players (who were upset that it’s too repetitive) while still trying to be accessible to all. At first the complaints were there isn’t an endgame, so they made more content. Then the additional content was too easy and mindless, so they nerfed a gadget that literally made the accessors a glorified minigame. Now they’re bumping up the difficulty of retaining and acquiring weapons (while also making it easier to upgrade and repair) so that we value our inventory more? Don’t forget about trials, which have been called boring, but now are “stupid”… And they are adding maps and events like clockwork, with legitimate and committed timelines and roadmaps? With weekly patches for necessary fixes? All while giving us a generous amount of in game currency? So why are we unhappy that the crash pad isn’t the size of a baron husk? It isn’t easy enough? The glider isn’t from Fortnite and is an easy bail out? And oh yeah - don’t please please please, don’t forget to pout about how “hard the arc are now”. How dare the developers continue to scale the difficulty with the player base.

Love this subreddit, but damn is hard to be on it these days.

To the developers; is the game perfectly balanced? No. Improvements and adjustments to be made? Yeah.

But I need y’all to know that we hear you and we see you and we appreciate all the work that you’re doing. And for every “unplayable” shit talk title you read, please know that some of us very much trust the game and story that you’re building and we will be here for the long haul. Great things take time, and I’m having a fun time while y’all create it. Thanks Embark!
