Why dont Camera manufacturers make metal/plastic hybrid cameras?

Why dont manufacturers make cameras where the outer shell is metal, and the middle and inner parts are plastic? This way, you have the best of all worlds. It "feels" like metal in your hand, and retains the weight and lightness of plastic.

How to Solve Crunchyroll's Profit Issue

Most people are aware that when you stream a show, you're giving the anime creators a fraction of a cent. And the overall streaming profits of Crunchyroll are also low. So how do you solve these two issues?

What if every anime in Crunchyroll had it's own shop. And for every piece of merchandise you buy (manga, t-shirt, dvd, etc), you get 2 weeks free of Crunchyroll. This would incentivize people to buy more merch, which would then put direct money in the creators' pockets. And since the whole shop is inside of Crunchyroll, Crunchyroll can take like 20% of merch profits in addition to the subscriber money they get from people who dont buy merch.

Debunking Every Argument for Tipping

  1. Servers only make $2 p/hr

Anyone who tells you this is being disingenuous, and only giving you half the truth. The FULL truth is that servers are paid one of two ways:

• $2 p/hour + tips

OR

• Standard minimum wage

Whichever option is HIGHER is the method they'll be paid. For example, if a server works a pay period and gets 0 tips, their pay will default to minimum wage-- which can be $7-21 p/hr, depending on the city they live in. And as a bonus, if this server lives in California, Oregon, or one of the 5 other exception states, this server makes standard minimum wage and tips COMBINED. I have personally met servers in California who make $70+ p/hr because of this. So the claim "if you don't tip me, I'll only make $2 p/hr” is simply not true.

  1. Tipping is a way of showing appreciation

You're right. It is a way of showing appreciation. But guess what-- there's another way to show appreciation. It's by saying "thank you." Why should I show appreciation in a way that leads to my financial deficit if I can show my appreciation in a different way?

  1. Servers can't live on minimum wage

Now I get this logic. I really do. But the problem I have is that people who say this have double standards. For example, do you tip cashiers? What about retail workers? Amusement park employees? Tech support agents? All these workers make minimum wage, yet you tip none of them. Seems a little bias to tip servers, and then ignore the hundreds of other minimum waged workers.

  1. Our restaurant uses a tip out system

This is also irrelevant, because even if your tips get allocated across your coworkers every day, you still CANNOT make less than minimum wage for your pay period. And if you do, then your restaurant is actively breaking the law, and you have the right to sue them.

  1. It's a custom

I do agree with the logic that we should abide by cultural customs, but only if said custom does not have a long lasting affect on you. For example, it's a custom in eastern countries to take off your shoes before entering a house. You'll only be there for a few hours, so it's respectful to abide by the custom. However, what if someone said "it's custom to give me $5 every time you enter my house." Would you abide by their "custom"? Of course not, and it's because giving them money is a permanent loss on your resources. So likewise, why should a restaurant diner permanently lose more of his resources $$$ for the sake of abiding by a custom?

  1. Servers work hard

This is probably the worst argument. As someone who has worked 5+ jobs, (INCLUDING being a waiter) I can tell you first hand that all jobs are hard-- they're just hard in different ways. So if you think this way, you better be tipping every employed person you come into contact with.

If You Were Given $200 Million by SEGA, which Sonic Project Would you Make?

Personally I want a modern 2D anime style Sonic show. After seeing the Shadow anime clips promoting the videogame, it just made me want this even more.

I like to shop second-hand sites in my spare time, and I keep seeing people selling their S9 to buy a Fuji. I just don't understand why people doing this, especially when cameras like the Lumix S9 are better in every technical spec for a MUCH cheaper price.

At an attempt to answer my own question, I think it's just hype and social conditioning. People see Fujifilm edits on TikTok, and know the brand has a great reputation, so they just immediately think they're the best cameras for hobbyists.
