MRCPsych Syllabus Changes

From 2027 it seems the syllabus will have changed. I’m planning to give the exam in the 2027 and am quite anxious as i’m worried all my prep with PsychMentor/SPMM may not be that useful anymore? Not sure how else to revise…
Will they still keep the same types of questions / stems?

From RCPsych:

“We are updating the Paper A and Paper B syllabi to ensure it continues to reflect the 2022 Core Psychiatry Curriculum, current clinical practice, ensuring the MRCPsych remains fit for purpose as a formal standardised assessment of knowledge and competencies.”

what would u do with £67k in my case …

So I’m 26, earning about £65k, and somehow ended up with ~£67k in investments (S&P + Fidelity Index World).

I’ve also got a mortgage with £70k left at 4.8% and around 40% equity.
And, because the universe enjoys balance, I’m carrying £50k of student debt that’s basically accruing interest like it’s trying to win a competition. I think it’s capped at 6% now thanks to Rachel.

I’ll definitely pay the student loan off eventually because my salary should hit ~£110k by 33 if I keep passing exams and pretending I understand Excel.

The dilemma:
Should I leave the £67k invested, or start throwing it at the loans? Half the internet says “never touch your investments”, the other half says “debt bad”. I’m just trying to work out which half is less delusional.

£67k to play with 🤔

okay so I am a 26 year-old male I earn about £65,000 per year and i now have ~£67000 in investments (S&P and Fidelity Index World).

I also have a mortgage which I have £70,000 left to pay on it 4.8% interest, I have about 40% equity in the house.

I also have £50,000 in student debt which is high interest rate due to war in Iran and terrible miserable state of UK economy. I think it’s now capped at 6% though.

I will deffo pay off my student loan eventually as my salary is set to increase to ~£110,000 by the time i’m 30 if i continue to pass excel and ace exams.

QUESTION: What should i do with my £60k in investments? Many people say don’t touch it but given the amount I have in loans would it be better to pay them down sooner?
