I bought a brand new AF155... in 2026?

It's been two weeks since I got this gorgeous Ibanez AF155-AWB delivered to me.
This model was built and sold from 2013 to 2018 and was priced at 900-1000€~. This unit itself was built in July 2015. I got this one for 623€ from a local guitar shop.

How is it possible I got it brand new 8 years after being discontinued, and 11 years after its manufacturing? And for a such a good price?

MIDI Sync drifts when I press play on Ableton

When I press play on Ableton or any other machine (Maschine Mikro, APC40, Arturia Keylab Essential), the SP pattern starts but the tempo sync fails at the start; it drifts from 40 BPM to the one matching Ableton's tempo. The sample starts inmediately, but it bends as it is BPM sync'ed, so it starts slowly and then stabilizes.

There is no problem if I trigger other patterns. It just happens when I press play on the DAW.

SP is connected only via USB
I checked "Track" on Input Ports, and "Track" and "Sync" on Output Ports. I also (Ableton configured MIDI Clock Type to "Pattern" and Hardware Resync to "Start Only" on Output Ports options.
Disabling Ableton Start Stop Sync didn't solve it.

SP404 Options:

  • MIDI Sync - AUTO
  • MIDI Sync Out - OFF
  • SEQ Note Out - OFF
  • SYNC Delay - 2ms (Default)
  • Bend SYNC (DJ) - OFF
  • PAD Note Out - ON
  • Soft Through - OFF
  • USB-MIDI Thru - OFF
  • PC Rx - ON
  • MIDI EXT SRC - THROUGH

I also have a Korg Volca Drum sync'ed and its tempo doesn't drift as the SP's, so it must be an Ableton/SP issue.

I found this post where this user reports the same problem. Another user commented 3 possible solutions that worked for them:

  1. Latency Fix On: Hold VALUE and press SUB PAD. This removes the SP-404's intentionally loose timing.
  2. BUS FXs: BUS FXs (especially Cassette!!!) introduce significant latency. All of them add some delay, so I routed my Model:Samples through the sp404 input channel & assigned the input to Bus 1. That fixed it.
  3. Sync Delay: Even after the above steps, the SP-404 was still slightly late. Probably why they added the Sync Delay setting. I set it to 10ms, and it works well for me.

None of those worked for me. Am I missing something here? Have you experienced something similar?

Need guidance for ordering E34 suspension

I got myself an Oxford Green 535i with a 5-speed manual transmission a year ago and I'm going to order the suspension via AutoDoc

No EDC, no SLS; just the standard suspension with ABS. Car also has A/C (for front springs). Mine was built on October 1987.

I'm thinking about purchasing Bilstein B4 shock absorbers and Koni springs but I have the next question: Are there any difference in shock absorbers and springs depending on production year?

For example, Autodoc offers me two different references of B4 Bilstein shock absorbers for the front axle, with no noticeable differences on the technical sheets of the parts: 21-030246 and 21-031199

What should I acknowledge before making any order? Thanks in advance
