GAC Paradox
Does anyone else find it incredibly annoying that not only do people in places like India have better rights and get customer service from an American company like Meta than actual Americans do but that these very places are the also where most of the hackers, scammers, troll farms, and all sorts other digital low life’s exist? I don’t have any personal problems with India. Its seems like a beautiful place with a rich history. And I’m glad that users elsewhere (India/EU/etc.) have the ability to use government channels to resolve Metas BS and thus don’t have to suffer like us supposedly free rights obsessed Americans do. In fact, I’m even a little jealous. But we have to a knowledge the irony of when an American gets hacked or scammed very likely by someone in India and thus hit with an account Integrity or CSE violation they, the victims, are shit out of luck. Meanwhile their actual victimizers can just run and cry to GAC and get their accounts back almost immediately if the AI flags their account for suspicious activity or if someone reports them. Many others have observed that large amounts of obviously violating content seem to proliferate on IG even after being reported and yet some mom and pap get their accounts banned for messaging their own kids or posting a flower pic. Something’s going on right? It’s not like the AI is getting 90-100% of all the bad content off the app and the rest of us our just collateral damage. That would at least be a silver lining. It’s worse than that. From what I gather the bad shits still there but thousands, maybe millions, arbitrarily lose access to years of their lives and exiled from the public square at great expense. It’s almost like the governments in places like India are in cahoots with the digital scum and that’s why they have such strong protections. To protect their criminal infrastructure. Am I the only one that sees this correlation outside of the EU? The more likely a country is to be a hotbed of digital criminals the more likely they are to have strong digital protections/rights. This isn’t meant to be a personal attack on India or places like it. It’s just how I see it. It’s insane! #chudai
