I started coding my first official design portfolio at age 29.

What started as me creating my first font through calligraphr, named it mymessyhands and made two more under the same folder, ended with me spending one whole ass day making this page come to life. The other font is space mono. One of my fav fonts. I decided to start bc ive had to record my hours to get paid and along the process took notes about pretty much what i did during those hrs. The purpose for this portfolio tho isnt to get hired (tho im broke af), but its to store all my creative logs for the times i worked. And I did that for a while on notion as you can see in the background.

So then, I don’t have to perform on social media, since I been experimenting with the idea of a public digital platform for sharing my designs and creative projects. Plus, I found that development logs, as I like to call them, helps my adhd symptoms when it comes to organizing information and gives me a clear improvement in my work and directions for next day.

All the contents expect for a few things are placeholders/filler words and this is just 12hrs of work. It was frustrating trying to work with .css 😭😫

This is my second time sharing my whiteboard planner. I didn’t expect anyone to see the first one and I didn’t think many would resonate with my adhd struggles, but after reading and responding to comments, I’m glad I was able to give an idea that could help ppl like me. 🥰

It’s where I just brain dump many of the items inside my head into this space. It’s been helping a lot in allowing me to focus on one thing, rather than countless things all at once a few days (typically a week) at a time.

Hope this method helps more ppl get inspired to start their own brain dumps, no matter if it’s on a whiteboard or on a piece of paper. Don’t let too many thoughts cloud your minds, everyone!

I start off the week (or any day of the week tbh 🤷🏻‍♀️) with dumping out all the things inside my head, mostly my projects. I typically pick one project, and just work on that for the rest of the days till i burn out. This actually works so well for my brain and manages my projects and any thoughts i have. It always felt like all my thoughts keep running away inside my brain-world and i struggle to catch it. After filling it up, i started taking pics, which lets me not having to worry about a thing. Plus, it gives me dopamine whenever i look at a filled board.

I do these nightly, but sometimes in the morning if i have time. The last one is from this morning.

Does anyone else also use a whiteboard to get all their thoughts out? Or what’s your unique way of organizing your thoughts?
