Please note- I’m not going for 100% accuracy of the httyd design philosophy- I just go with what feels right.

Feel free to suggest what class any of these dragons would fit in (example being boulder class, tidal class, etc) and/or any abilities they could have! I’d love to hear ideas and suggestions since I’m mostly just pushing out designs and not thinking much about the other stuff-

Decided to post these since they are basically just me designing new httyd species- the only one that you’d have to stretch your imagination for is the whirlbelly bc wizard is a very humanoid concept- other than that lmk what yall think! And if you wanna put then in any classes/wanna suggest what special abilities they might have feel free to comment below, I’d love to hear bout it!

HIHI! I apologize for my abrupt hiatus… I was participating in artfight and overall being lazy- anyways accept my apology through these 3 new pages and the first 6 days of Smaugust! Feel free to accept these as httyd fan-species OR not- I made the descriptions vague so it can be interpreted either way. But I did have httyd in mind when making these designs.

Also i hope this satisfies anyone who was weary about the au bc of the snotlout glazing at first…

HEYYY- if you remember me I’m the one with the uhhh- prime asset based around sheep dogs and stuff- anyways I redesigned her and made her more grotesque! She no longer has feet… thought it’d give her a Digitigrade silhouette which i thought was cool- I remade the outfit to be more “childlike” to subtly hint at how the disabled were often infantalized. Oh and I took away her lips… fully…

As for the ex pops i thought of some based around irl phenomenon of feral children, which are children who were literally raised by animals/so neglected they act feral. I thought this paired with the billy goat gruff story would make an interesting idea… still a major wip and obviously I gotta mess em up some more but for now here are my ideas for em:

The smallest has pituitary dwarfism, so they look like a child even when they’re an adult.. their purpose is to “trip” the reagents for the other two to catch up

Middle- he grabs the reagent and screams… like a goat… which alerts nearby expops and assets.

Largest - bro rams his head into the reagents.. he has head trauma… that’s it- he’s the big one and the dumbest.

Would highly appreciate some insight to improve the ex pops (not the prime asset.. I’ve redone her 4 times now) and ideas that you’d like to see!!

In my world there is a country called talermois, this country was hidden from human civilization until at the story’s timeline 20 years ago. This country is home to MALAs, to summarize they’re magic furries. The more complex explanation is a sort of sped up evolutionary system caused by the amount of magic imbued in the land, this magic is then exerted through simple tasks going back into the land. This sort of recycling mechanism is why many MALAs don’t live outside of Talermois.

There are 2 other species not covered in this infographic, one being the SkeleMALA which adapted to the less magical environment by recycling their magic back into their body. Then the changelings not featured here often rely on the magic of others, instead of recycling its more similar to a mirror bouncing another MALA’s magic back onto itself. These two species are considered nearly extinct, with the futura Family being the last of their kind and the changeling’s status still unknown except for a human hybrid.

Speaking of hybrids:

It is not uncommon to see hybrids of two MALAs within the same category, for example a mammalian MALA with a mammalian MALA. But it is incredibly taboo for two species of different categories to have a child, as not only this being dangerous for the one giving birth but also the possibility defects to the child are too harsh to bear. As for human and MALA children, they are considered a rarity but possible, although they won’t be accepted by either side because they are quite controversial due to the history between human and MALAs.

I SWEAR THIS IS THE END OF KIRA LOATHING- I just really needed to hammer in the mental toil these dragon hunters have on her and how this might or might not be foreshadowing for everyone else.

I was doing a small side quest last week so I didn’t work on the au.. but I am planning something! When it’ll be released I have no clue bc I have no time management skills- but hopefully this sneak peek will hype you guys up for when I do finish it.

Yes I have 3… I’m very indecisive on what aesthetic I like so I decided all of them are best.

Scorch is inspired by a piñata, boom inspired by those deviantart black and red edgy ocs and the classic worm on a string, and sparkle is inspired by the Cheshire Cat + mad hatter.

They have old designs but they’re cringey so I’m not showing </3

Super long title bc I don’t have another idea for it.. anyways.. saw this img on Pinterest and it encompassed their vibe so much I had to redraw it as them.

NOT CANON IN THE AU… but ima be fr this all originated bc i wanted to draw my self insert smooching snotlout so im doing just that-

Real oleanders do not come in blue.. massive disappointment.. at least I can enjoy it in fiction.

I haven’t decided if I want it canon to the au- so for now just uhhh let’s just say it’s similar in style but not-canon.

Anyways- the mist twister as a concept is cool af.. but my god it’s ugly as hell.. this was my attempt at redesigning it- tried to keep the key aspects but changed some things to be more “tidal” class and more HttyD-esk. Btw I based their faces off of a catfish-

I totally forgot that last week I was meant to also write bout snotlout showing some of his.. snottiness in front of Kira bc so far snotlout dyed his red flags green which only works for so long.

Also expect more pages/slower pace! I’ll probably be spacing the in-universe weeks out so it doesn’t feel.. rushed. Still haven’t figured out a solid schedule for that yet but I will still be posting every week!
