Enlighten me. How can someone like Kizaru? How can anyone be a fan of his character? He's just so pathetic. (I'm not talking about strength).
He's one of the strongest characters in the verse. Realistically no one would be able to defeat him if he wants to retreat. He is in a position where he is a threat to everyone, but no one really is a threat to him.
Yet he wants to be a dog so bad. He would rather obey orders he absolutely does not want to do than being a free man who can do whatever he wants.
Egghead truly shows how pathetic he is. He knows Vegapunk is not a bad person, and they're very good friends with a long history. Yet he'd rather kill that person than be a free man who can live with his own principles.
Crying? Feeling conflicted? Forced to kill his friend? Those are things only the weak should suffer, not someone like Kizaru. His egghead performance was a complete joke. Oda is so bad at writing a complex character. Garp is equally badly written, but that's a topic for another day.
We one piece fans, or atleast the power-scalers are so narrow minded and don't actually care about the plot at all, just how stronger character X is.
Someone like Kizaru, if it was in any other story where things other than power level was cared about by the fans, would absolutely be thrashed by the entire community.
He's so weak, incapable of living on his own and can only be a puppet for the evil people while actually having no restrictions put on him. It absolutely makes zero sense. You're trying to tell me he's not actually that evil at heart? What a joke.
Characters like him would never work in any other story. A non-evil person obeying orders of the evil people, being forced to commit evil deeds, while actually being super strong and the evil people having zero leverage against him. No blackmail. No nothing. He just chose to serve them for absolutely no reason. It makes absolutely zero sense.
