Group project partner screwed me over royally by ignoring all my input and writing the whole thing with AI, and not even checking what he wrote.

My uni group project teammate screwed me over. He promised we'd work together, but he had AI write his entire project. Deadline is tomorrow night. I have to rewrite the whole damn thing since he didn't compromise.

And you wanna know the worst part?

AI is allowed but you have to be honest about how much you used it and what you actually did. He didn't do anything, just put prompts in Claude, I did all the manual work, and he wrote that we didn't use AI that much. Obvious lie.

He had Claude write a 1300 line R script.

THE THING CRASHED ON LINE 3.

He didn't even bother to check the damn thing.

I went to every single lecture and I use AI to teach me because the teacher was so shitty I didn't understand a thing.

He went to zero lectures and used AI to write all for him.

He's a leech.

I asked him if he behaves like this in group projects with other people. He told me to shut up, his life is none of my business. I said it is, because the project is mine as well.

I asked him if he knew what VAR (romanian abbreviation for Auto Regressive Vector) means. He said no and asked if I was making fun of him.

VAR was literally the 4th word in the Word file "he" made and the key of the entire part of the project. He didn't goddamn know.

Then he said I spoke too much and threatened that if I said one more word he'd close the phone. So i closed it instead.

I showed up to uni every single day for the past 3 weeks 2 or 3 hours early to work on projects, I asked him to come help me, he didn't do a single thing. Then he has Claude write the entire project without any of my input or work, and tells me that if I don't like it, then rewrite the entire thing.

so i'll do that.

i threatened him - either we work together, or I tell the teacher the truth that I did 90% of the human work and he just copy pasted a Claude output.

he didn't care

I'm thinking to just remove his name from the project entirely.

He passed 3 exams he had previously failed because of MY tutoring. Bro barely even shows up to school!

He owes me, and doesn't care.

Deadline tomorrow night. Wish me luck 🙏

one last thing. Earlier today, I wrote this story in r /college. Instantly deleted by the mods, then a few hours later I was perma banned for "breaking the rules". Which rules? They didn't say. Perma banned for 1 post, seriously? tf is wrong with that subreddit?

Group project teammate promises we'll work together on a project, then does absolutely everything with AI and says I don't have to do anything more, when I wanted an honest project.

Hi. I have a uni project due tomorrow night, with this guy called Cezar. The project (which was about time series) had two parts, each with a different deadline. The teacher is quite nasty and strict, but she explicitly allowed AI, as long as you honestly documented everything you used it for, and % contribution per member.

We did the first part together last month. And by did I mean he prompted everything into Claude Pro AI, I tried my best to fix, adjust and interpret everything. I used AI too, Gemini, but as an assistant, not as a crutch. Because I go to every single lecture, but I'm not too good at this subject, while he never goes to lectures. And he lied on the form, said he used way less AI than he did.

For the past 2 weeks I kept telling him we have to meet at uni and work together and finish the second party, about "multivariate analysis". He doesn't even know what multivariate means.
This entire week I kept asking him when can we meet in person to work on it? He kept deflecting. Then he said we should meet online. And he said sure, when? He said saturday, which is today.

Last night he posted the entire second part written by Claude. Completely ignoring me. "He" did the work and just slapped my name on it. Deadline is tomorrow night. He told me not to complain, the project is finished, we present that!
I value my work. I used to be the number 1 student, before mental health made me drop, but I still have passed all my exams. Cezar failed many, and only passed others because I helped him.

I asked him what he's going to do when the teacher asks him to present and explain and he knows nothing. He told me it doesn't concern me, it is none of my business. I said it is my business, we're in the same boat, we're gonna sink or swim, and if the teacher takes down his grade for the project that affects me too.
I told him his project didn't contain any coding, nad I said I'll do it. He sent me Claude generated R codes. Every single one. And not in one file, 10 separate files.

I rgot bad at him- we had agreed to do this together. He complained I acted like a 2nd grader - "the project is finished, who cares?". He told me my job was to learn the stuff to present to the teacher. I said that's not how this works, my work means something to me. I asked him if he wanted to work or wanted others to think that he worked. He accused me of ridiculing him.

He pivoted and said that if I don't like him doing everything, then how about I do everything instead? And give myself a 70% and him a 30% contribution. I told him this isn't fair, we are equals in this project, I'm tired of being his crutch when he acts like this, and I'm tired of me being abandoned and disrespected by people I trust.
He called me for 20 minutes. Kept talking over me and insulting me. I voiced my concerns fairly and called him out. He said that I spoke enough, and if I say one more word he'll hang up. So I closed the call instead.

I feel I was harsh but I had to do it.

Our project allows AI, and I intend to use it to help me (not do everything for me) repair his mess of a project...

Wish me luck.

What do I do? The professor we have wouldn't care, she routinely is very harsh to students.

▲ 6 r/autism

Hi. My name is Robert.

I was debating this guy on another site on a game theory topic. (a rather viral topic online about buttons). He doesn't even know basic game theory, meanwhile I study it in university. I wrote to him about Nash Equilibrium and his response was: "I feel like I'm getting trolled. Are you autistic? not being mean but genuinely."

Yeah... forget the "not being mean" part. For any attempt I tried to make logically he just retaliated with insults, and when I called out some of his nonsense (pretending a made up scenario was possible in the real world) he claimed he thinks I'm really autistic. Not just that but he kept calling me that... after that his mask came off. "jeez the autism" multiple laugh emojis. "Are you telling me you've never heard that slang before?" (i'm not from his area) "that's the most autistic shit i've ever heard" multiple laugh emojis.

Then I sourced him a link to prove my point. he cherry picked one line from it that served his POV and said.. surprise.. "this is autism my man, you're autistic".

After I told him that he can't just use that word as an insult all the time, and called him a clown and said he can't talk to people like that, regardless if they're autistic or not, he just said: "I genuinely think you're autistic and you're proving more with this response".

I called him out for acting like a doctor, like he gave himself the right to diagnose people online... when in fact he behaved just like a teenager who used the word as a slur..

And this guy... asked if I ever got checked or just assumed I'm not... yes, I did get checked.

This guy is so extremely offensive. He thins I am autistic so he just throws the word like an insult.

I'd like to know... if any of you here have dealt with people this terrible.. what did you do in those instances? I don't know much about autism and the community, but I imagine you have encountered such people and I just want to let you know you truly don't deserve such awful experiences.

Thank you for hearing me out and I'm really sorry if I said anything wrong.
