Captains meeting happened yesterday

How long do you think before the POS traderjoesobsessed leaks all the insider info from it?

Are secret shoppers hired by the state or the company?

To enforce state law or company policy?

We still have mini totes lol

Well, as of yesterday there was still a huge pile at the bridge. I'm a best shifter so I'm not at work yet to check.

Thought last shipment was supposed to be Monday but we got one Tuesday night!

I had a customer excited run over to the bridge when I told her that we still had totes, I turned to point her to the bridge and we ran into each other but we were both okay

How many stores actually switched to 9 am open?

Seems lots of the people here still open at 8 am. My store has a nice 9-9 sign by the entry/exit doors

Truck came before 6 pm, we waited until 7 pm to put the totes out. Only like 8/36 cases or so remained.

Was kinda hard to tell cause they were broken down on the display by the bridge and in carts in the back ready to refill the display.

Thankfully there will be few left for the morning crazies. The sane people got their fair shot at a bag

Sold out of bags between 12 pm and 1 pm on day 1. I think people camped our night truck because as soon as it arrived it was busy

I had 8 pm register and it was busier than 6 pm on a Sunday rofl. Our night truck gets in at 6.

But at least humans had their chance to get bags not just resellers! I complimented a customer that came to my line with one of her bags actually with groceries in it! USING THE BAG NOT JUST A DUMB STATUS SYMBOL! (well I didn't say it quite like that)

My cutter finally broke after 4.5 years T_T

It was the cutter I got when I was hired! I'm devastated

The tab broke off, the one that you use to get the blade out :(

I was doing final cart run and...

...apparently a beetle decided to land on my head but I didn't notice. Worked the rest of the night and clocked out then went to the breakroom to get my stuff. All of a sudden I feel something on my neck and freak out and slap at it.

It landed on a table so I got a disposable cup and put the poor thing outside as I left. Plus I didn't wanna leave it in the breakroom

I guess it just wanted to hitch a ride :(

Do any trader Joe's share a space with another business?

Not just same building (many do especially city stores) but ones that aren't really fully divided from each other

Had a dream where a trader Joe's at the end of an aisle was like a clothing department. There was a trader Joe's café outside the space that was that store's version of demo

During a "let's take a walk"

Does the witness mate HAVE to agree with whatever the mate pulling the crew member aside is saying? Can they just go "wow this is stupid this shouldn't be going on the crew member's record"?

We're getting non-alcoholic wine and beer!

I saw the printout of the email. Didn't read to see the date when it would happen.

Apparently the company did a trial run in some other state months ago and it was a huge success!

It's going to be weird but at least we'll still never have to card people. And customers can finally buy cooking wine. I wonder if this will come to stores that have alcohol too?

Worst fat finger order at your store?

77 cases of the 49 cent fruit wrap instead of 7, the warehouse actually took back 70 of them lol

I can imagine other stores may not have been so lucky, especially if it was a frozen or perishable fat finger

Can the company not count?

With the cap of 10 cases per store they had planned, how the frig did they not stock enough bags to get stores through more than one day? There's x stores served by each warehouse, multiply that by 10 and multiply that by at least 3 days worth!

How was corporate caught so unprepared? The bags are TOS until the 30th

Say it with me: fuckin bags

WEIRD but funny work related dreams

Ever have those?

I recently had a dream where I was a high school senior girl with telekinetic powers in her first job with trader Joe's, flying around collecting carts that went wandering away from the store, connecting them in midair, and flying with the group of them back to the store. Including after her shift cause there were a bunch of carts right outside her house. (edit typo)

Another weird one was actually getting alcohol, suddenly no longer illegal, and it was being put on our pull out bread shelves.

I love being able to tell these to fellow crew and to customers as well.

What areas get day bread?

Northeast stores get from a bakery in Brooklyn. It's shipped every morning NOT FROZEN and shared every night.

Apparently this isn't company wide?

Two customers came in with carts at 8:58

I was doing final cart run and was like "oh great, they're gonna be shopping 'til like 9:30"

To my absolute shock, they got 2 carts so they could speed blitz each half of their shopping list. It was like 9:07 and they were both done and out the door! They weren't even the last person shopping!

Why can't every person who shops last minute like this be that awesome? I think they actually made the last person in the store realize the time and hurry her shopping along too!

NO PAPER BAGS IN NEW JERSEY. We also lost all our baskets due to theft, as did most other non-TJ stores. As chaotic as it seems, I prefer it. Most customers help bag. The people in this sub that complain about customers not bagging, come to NJ!

Only reason I remember the date is cause it was star wars day. Today is cinco de mayo. Tomorrow is revenge of the sixth. Three holidays in a row!

Our system does that on cash transactions now and it prints on the receipt but it forgets that our drawers can actually have pennies in them sometimes... Kinda goofy.
