My idea for new villan of AA7

So, while we are still waiting for a proper sequel to the Ace Attorney series, how have you been? As for me, I’ve had so much free time on my hands that I started thinking about what kind of villain I’d like to see in Ace Attorney 7.
My idea is a new villainous defense attorney, following in the footsteps of Kristoph Gavin.

However, unlike villains like Gavin or Manfred or Gant or Excelsius, who are driven by victory, power, or greed, this character acts solely according to their own sense of “justice.”

The problem is that their sense of justice is deeply distorted.
Specifically, they would be a lawyer who goes out of their way to defend criminals, managing to secure acquittals even for the most heinous offenders.

As for their appearance, I imagine someone whose face clearly belongs to a middle-aged adult, yet whose eyes sparkle with the bright, idealistic shine of a shōnen manga protagonist.

The contrast creates an unsettling impression. There is a childish innocence about them that feels completely inappropriate for their age, making them seem strangely eerie rather than youthful.

At the same time, they are always impeccably dressed, with a neat and professional appearance that only adds to the discomfort.

Like I mentioned before, the most unsettling thing about them is their eyes. Despite being middle-aged lawyer, their eyes hold a sparkle and a sense of hope reminiscent of a young hero who truly believes he can save anyone. Combined with the contrast of their weather-beaten faces, their appearance evokes not admiration, but rather a deep sense of unease. No matter how harsh the reality they face, they seem like people who simply cannot let go of the ideals they held as a baby.

Whether this is accomplished through mind control or simply through extraordinary legal skill is up to your imagination.

They constantly make statements that sound compassionate on the surface like:

"Locking criminals in jail is more cruel than their crimes."
"Some people cannot survive without committing crimes. I was born to protect their happiness."

"Everyone deserves a chance at redemption."

"Even evil people are still human beings. Their lives are precious."

Their words are eloquent, idealistic, but void.
While they passionately defend criminals and speak at length about the value of every human life, they show an almost complete lack of sympathy for victims. They rarely acknowledge the suffering, fear, or grief that crimes inflict on innocent people.

Whenever victims are mentioned, they either dismiss their pain as unfortunate collateral damage or simply change the subject altogether.

The result is a lawyer whose compassion feels strangely one-sided. They claim to love humanity, yet seem incapable of caring about the people who were actually harmed.

Despite this, I would like the story to end with an ironic fate befalling someone who devoted themselves to protecting evil people.

What do you think of such a character and story concept?

Oomf told me that my personality is a cross between Luke Atmey and Larry Butz, should I take it as a compliment?

I mean, I love Atmey the most among all of AA characters, and Larry is so fucking funny, but I have mixed feelings.
