For the record I love my mom deeply and can't imagine life without her. But I have two very unstable brothers and no relationship with her family. We are immigrants and they absolutely hate me for not being enmeshed (being on call every second) and I'm the only successful one... They always complain about not sending money. For my mom funeral nobody's pitching in but I'm Going to pay for it regardless. I really don't care for them and want nothing to do with the family... They waited until I was committed to paying for everything to come with their demands and possibly hands out... Saying goodbye to Mom is important to me but I just want to see her and not wanting to be around them... Should I just pay for the funeral but not attend or try to be around them...
