After ~100 hours, I've finally built my dream ship. The Emperion.

Using an online guide for a battle cruiser, I took some creative freedoms after getting a frame put together to build my capital ship.

I've always loved Battle Cruisers. I thought of them as peak starship designs. Blizzard was cooking when they designed them. After a hundred hour grind for levels, perks, money, and even mod selection, I have finally built a ship worthy of calling my Capital ship.

It includes:

A control room

A science lab

A computer core

An armory

A stairwell connecting these 4 and the Bridge

A mess hall

A workshop with 3 Nova living quarters Habs on the starboard side wing

An infirmary with 3 Nova living quarters Habs on the port side wing

A 3x1 engineering hab serving as the connection between the main ship and the bow

1 companionway

2 storage units

1 cargo hall (empty) which features 6 additional bunks, a bathroom, 3 showers, a navigational table, and plenty of room left for a future recreational space complete with seating areas and a game table

1 additional Nova living quarters under the bow

1 Nova captains quarters (empty) above the bow with a window and seating area for the window, as well as all mission boards and displays for collectibles

4 automated turrets for port and starboard defense (she chunky, so it takes a second to turn)

3 heavy hitting particle weapons

4 Laser weapons

4 engines

Class C reactor & Grav drive

And a fair few add-ons to help her out a bit

She's quite a beauty. I'm very proud of her. All that's missing is a Yamato cannon.

Gonna hurt real bad going to NG+. Thankfully, I haven't completed *any* main missions or faction quests. I stopped constellation after picking up Berret and Andreja. So I'll have plenty of game to enjoy this ship. I do fear that it'll be fairly overpowered for some time though lol.

I do have multiple mods installed including a mod to increase module limits to 400, and to increase ship sizes (didn't even use this part of the mod), as well as a 200 crew slot mod, and a few ship module mods.

When Starfield first came out, I LOVED the lockpick mechanic. I thought it was fun, engaging, and done much better than Bethesdas other titles.

Until I got the game on PS5. See, on Xbox, I never really paid much attention to lock picking. Because I was mostly interested in just playing through the story and missions, I didn't really bother with much exploration or looting. The missions and stories usually kept me afloat financially.

Now with PS5 and all the updates, including xtech and being able to upgrade weapons, also building my dream ship, as well as buying all the resources to help fund these endeavors. I quickly became a packrat. Looting everything, every container, every body, every kitchen stove top. If it's worth a credit, it's worth tossing in my bag.

But I NEVER realized how much lockpicking there was to do at bigger POIs. Last night, I was at an abandoned POI, and every few steps I took was another locked door, locked cage, locked weapon container, locked chest. I had maxed out lock picking as one of my first skills. So I felt unbothered by the mechanic for the majority of my playthrough, until that POI. Then it really made me realize JUST how much time it was taking me to loot locked stuff. So I hopped over to creations, downloaded the Easy Lockpicking mod, and was immediately relieved of the burdens of being a hoarder.

I really and truly wished this was standard. That the last rank of the lock pick skill was 250-500 lock requirement, and completing it made every lockpick attempt automatic, never having to deal with master locks ever again.

Anyways, thank you to the creator for the lockpick mod. Not only did you save me a lot of time, but saved my sanity as well.

TLDRA: Bethesda designed a great lockpick mini game. However, they either need to tone down the amount of locks that can appear, or add a reward for maxing the lockpick skill that automatically picks locks for the player.

Edit for the people who may have issues reading: This is NOT a complaint about the lockpick mechanic itself. As I said, I love the mechanic, it's fun an engaging. This post is about the sheer amount of lockpicking you are presented with at any given POI or space station. Having to constantly go into the Lockpick mini game over and over to clean house is annoying, and is why I got the Easy Lockpick Mod to make it completely trivial, and faster. Making looting less of a chore.
