BASAMAK: A free drum synth/sequencer/sampler I've made

I've worked on this for 2 weeks straight. It can sequence its own sounds or samples you provide. It can send them if you wanna use your own FX. Or it can sequence other plugins. It can do all of them at the same time too (by that routing button on the top). Seems to work on both windows and macbook. There is a linux version i made (thanks to claude for everything ofc) via github but i couldn't test that one. I think this plugin is very versatile and yet so simple thanks to its tooltips. Although I am very biased and there might be bugs i haven't noticed yet :) I just wanted a fully midi assignable step sequencer in the beginning and this came out in the end. https://github.com/Kanebos9/BASAMAK/releases

Drum VST with a sequencer where each step can be toggled via MIDI pads?

Hi, i want a drum vst that i can control with pads in a midi controller. For hardware I thought of getting novation launchpad mini mk3 because its pad behaviour can be changed into toggle or momentary (if there is something else like that, please let me know). And for software, i could only find something called beatforge which i couldn't really find enough feedback from its users. I tried this vst with my launchkeys pads, it works well in toggle mode. I see that most people recommend microtonic online but i couldn't find a way to control its step with midi. Are there any other option that does what beatforge do? I'm not saying beatforge isn't good, it's just that i have no idea about it and I would like to get some opinions from someone who already has experience before I invest my time and also money.

Hi. It has been a few months since I decided I want to produce my own music. I have some simple bass and guitar riffs recorded, and they sound passable as intros. I also have some lyrics written, and I can fit them into bars depending on the bpm and how I sing.

But when it comes to adding vocals, I can’t make them sound good together with the instruments. To be fair, my vocals don’t sound great by themselves either. But at this point, I just want to know whether the way lyrics are sung and instruments can actually work well together in my songs. I thought I could focus on improving my voice later after arranging a few songs first, but right now the vocals always sound unrelated to the instruments.

I’ve watched a lot of youtube videos, but I’m still too clueless to identify the problem. I don’t know what exactly I should be studying or practicing or what questions i should be asking. I don’t have a musical background, and it has only been a few months since I started playing instruments (badly). I also have a job and other responsibilities and I can’t afford lessons right now. I’m basically trying to learn everything by myself, so I thought I could ask here.

What should I study and practice to make sure the way i sing my lyrics goes well with the way i play the instruments? Or do you think my voice not being good enough could cause my problem too? I mean, maybe if someone else sings with the same groove as me, it would be good. Maybe while i think its most likely about fitting lines in a bar and whats playing in the background; its much more about the vocal ability. What do you think?

By the way, I’m not aiming for a specific genre, but I usually lean toward pop/rock.

Hi, I have touchosc app installed on my tablet. And on my windows pc, there are reaper and bitwig installed. On protokol, i can see both midi and osc connections are working. In the DAWs however, only midi connection works. I came to that conclusion because i can't control my DAW from my tablet if i disable midi connection type; disabling or enabling osc however, does nothing. I set up drivenbymoss extension for bitwig, still does not work (only thing i did was copy paste a file into bitwig extensions folder, so idk if it was actually enough but i see the "by drivenbymossgraber" after selecting osc product in bitwig dashboard). I couldn't even understand how to set drivenbymoss to reaper because in the installation tutorial, it talks about files that don't actually exist in the folder (probably the tutorial pdf was not updated). I have been making so much research but i can not understand the issue. I guess this would be a hard to explain as there could be many reasons but could at least someone point me to the right direction?
