When using a wedge bag on the rear stock which way should the slope face? I’ve been told tall end toward you but have seen people with the sloped end facing them. Is there a proper orientation or kinda just whatever feels better?

I’m having 2cm quartzite countertops installed. Initial quote included decking. Countertops are being installed without decking. Contractor says it isn’t necessary, googles AI answer says otherwise. I’d like to believe the contractor but I’m worried that he may be just taking a shortcut at my kitchens expense. No substantial overhanging as in a bar or anything like that.
