[Question] can a battery be swapped without ever showing up in the service history?
Ordered an “open box” iphone 12 mini. Completely aware that the likelihood it was actually open box are slim to none but figured it would at least ensure I got a phone in good working condition. One thing I noticed while inspecting the phone was that it had 100% battery health but no battery replacement in the service history. It did however have a screen replacement. Can anyone explain how this would be possible? Is there any way to swap a battery without it ever being logged in the service history? I mean there’s no way that could be the original battery. Even if it sat in a box completely unused for 6 years the battery would degrade at least by some amount right? I would have never gave it another thought if it weren’t for the litany of cellular hardware issues I discovered as I was trying to move my service to the phone. took it to Apple to see if it was something I could just pay to fix and the guy just looked at the computer screen and said… “send it back” lol. phone is being returned regardless due to the hardware issues but was just curious about the battery thing given the circumstances.
