[Question] can a battery be swapped without ever showing up in the service history?

Ordered an “open box” iphone 12 mini. Completely aware that the likelihood it was actually open box are slim to none but figured it would at least ensure I got a phone in good working condition. One thing I noticed while inspecting the phone was that it had 100% battery health but no battery replacement in the service history. It did however have a screen replacement. Can anyone explain how this would be possible? Is there any way to swap a battery without it ever being logged in the service history? I mean there’s no way that could be the original battery. Even if it sat in a box completely unused for 6 years the battery would degrade at least by some amount right? I would have never gave it another thought if it weren’t for the litany of cellular hardware issues I discovered as I was trying to move my service to the phone. took it to Apple to see if it was something I could just pay to fix and the guy just looked at the computer screen and said… “send it back” lol. phone is being returned regardless due to the hardware issues but was just curious about the battery thing given the circumstances.

WHERE on earth can I find one of these damn things

I’ve been trying to get a purple iPhone 12 mini for several months now. I don’t want to give up but it’s lookin pretty bleak. I’m on my 4th attempt. First two were from a site called elecrics, 3rd from a seller on eBay called sigmacellular. All duds in different ways. The eBay one hurts the worst because it was listed as “open box” (I know 6 years later it wouldn’t be but I was hoping the phone would be more like an ACTUAL excellent/premium refurb) cosmetically its in really nice shape but it has every possible cellular hardware issue it can have per Apple so I cant get cell service on it. So the hunt continues. I’m still waiting on a refund for the first ones; and I just started the eBay return today so I’m still down the money on two phones which at this point is making me wary to keep dropping hundreds of dollars.

Back market and plug either do not have the phone in the specs I want or at all, swappa only has 1 available, and while the asking price seems fair it’s a lower grade than what I’m willing to accept for said price. Right now I’m considering Amazon renewed sold by Amazon specifically as I see people fighting for their refund back when it’s a 3rd party seller, but if it’s sold by Amazon directly hopefully I wont have a shitty refund process if I get another dud. the other option is another eBay seller that supposedly has the actual phone listed in the photos at a very reasonable price (about 100 less than Amazon); listing says 30 day warranty but seller doesnt accept returns(?) item is covered by eBay money back guarantee but I still feel iffy about that…..Idk I guess I’m just looking to see where anyone in the past 6months-1year has gotten there’s and not got an absolute pos in a box sent to them? Or out of the two options I’m considering next what would be considered more reliable? I just feel like whichever one I go with I’m going to regret not picking the other 😭 Ize tide boss someone help me find somewhere to get this damn ass phone
