The Neighborhood Council asked me to come up with a patriotic playlist for our July 4th brunch tomorrow. Can I add these?

The rules are that it can't be political or religious, so I feel like these are my best bets.

I'm only 60% joking. If any of you can find the full-length recordings of these on Spotify, I will crown you king of America.

Is anyone else worried about the future of the breed?

I've been spending a lot of time thinking about how there are so many breeds of dogs that are just inherently unhealthy (Frenchies, English bulldogs, dachshunds, etc.), and how they all looked very different even just 50-100 years ago.

Jefferson has been the best dog I've ever had, and I would 100% get a corgi again, but I have noticed some breeders selecting for shorter, longer and loafier than seems healthy. And although I don't know how things like heterochromia or fluffiness play into overall genetic health, I always feel a little nervous when I hear a breeder say they breed for those traits specifically.

Is anyone else nervous about this? I feel particularly nervous because the breed is so popular right now, and they are already pretty robust and healthy.

DEALBREAKER! We're shutting down the "shut that down" posts

Okay, that catch-phrase needs a little work, but still, DEALBREAKER.

We have sent the spammer to Sexcriminalboat for a month of workshops with Jefferey Weinerslav to learn their lesson when they sexually harass in the workplace, things do not somehow just work out in the end.

The occasional reference to a line in the show is fine. Please do not spam the main feed. OR ANY FEED.

"I don't wanna go!"

Walk last week with Jefferson. It was hot. We were on our second loop. And someone had chicken tenders at their picnic. He was done, and we went back to the car.

Jefferson came to church with me today, made friends, and got snacks.

I have actually trained Jefferson as a service animal. Luckily, my health has improved over the last year or so, so I don't need to use him much anymore, but I do like to take him places periodically to make sure he remembers how to behave in public. (Also, as soon as I stopped bringing him to church, people kept asking about him, so I feel like I need to bring him by once in a while.)

He was a very good boy—like usual—and a little girl sitting next to me fed him a few of her dried apple chips. Both were absolutely delighted with the exchange.

I referenced God Cop today in church

I promise it was relevant to the discussion. Most of the people at my church have not watched 30 Rock. The joke kind of fell flat, but it was worth it.

I know it’s only been a couple months since season 2 ended, but I already really miss all of these characters. Except for Santos. I can’t believe Santos is gonna be in season 3. I hated her so much. Of course, we’ll see them again in season 3 next year. I can’t wait for season 3 👍

The cutest thing happened 🥹

It's one of those things where I couldn't get to my phone on time to film it, so you are just going to have to believe me.

BUT I was taking a nap with Jefferson, and his butt was right in my face (as is standard). I heard him do the little dream woofs he does when he's sleeping, and I opened my eyes and saw his little nub wiggling like crazy.

His breeder docked his tail SUPER close to his tush, so it can be a little hard to see when it is wiggling, so this was a real treat to see it going crazy while he was asleep.

I want to know what he was dreaming about. I kind of hope it was him seeing me after I get home (which is when his nub wiggles a lot when he's awake.) But let's be honest, he was probably dreaming about a squirrel.

I don’t speak dog. Can anyone help me out here?

This is actually a photo from a few years ago that a friend sent me when he was babysitting Jeff. I just ran across it again, and had to post it.

No more Krang! Please stop posting about the dog that shot that woman.

I don't know whether to be more surprised that so many people posted this, or that this is such a common story that we have to do this every six months.

Maybe we shouldn't let dogs have guns.

Either way, please keep in mind that this, as well as "That's not THAT much cheese" type of stories, are pretty frequent. So please look to see if they have been posted after a story breaks. Here's how to do that:

  1. Navigate to the main page of the sub: r/30ROCK
  2. Use the search bar for keywords of the story, OR
  3. Just below the logo, select Sort By > New
  4. Scroll to see if anything has been posted in the last 48 hours.

The mod team will be taking down any future posts about this... at least until the next dog-shooting incident, which I give until about November to happen.

And no, this isn't Hitler's bunker. That would make me Hitler!
